"I don't want to hear it! Not you...or your dirty lies!"
You raised your eyebrow but didn't turn around. You clearly knew that voice. 'Hana.'
She was released from the Infirmary a few weeks ago. And she was stuck in a wheelchair. Forever.
"What...I'm only trying to help!" Your head snapped up as you heard Jean's voice.
Getting up from your chair, you swiftly walked over to them. "What's the fuss?" You asked, separating the two.
"He said...he said there might be a chance that I can still walk." She replied, angrily.
You sighed, and your hands flopped back to your sides. "It's only a childish fight." You muttered, raking a hand through your hair.
"What?!" Both Hana and Jean turned to look at you with furious expressions. You walked away and threw your lunch in the trash.
___
You watched Hana and Levi talk as he wheeled Hana through the hallways. "Levi..." You muttered, disappearing back into your room.
You lay your head on your desk table. "My heart hurts." You told your stuffed animal bunny. "I should've known to stay away..." You muttered.
"Why, (Y/N)?" You mimicked a deep voice, imagining that your bunny was talking to you.
"Because it hurts, Mr. Bunny. It hurts..." You hugged it to your chest. "It hurts right there."
"I don't see anything wrong with it." You mimicked again.
You sighed, before throwing Mr. Bunny back onto the bed. You flopped down beside it.
"Hey Mr. Bunny...Hana said falling in love made you feel warm. But right now...I don't understand."
You buried your face in your bed covers.
___
You approached Levi and Hana. "Hey." You greeted them.
Levi nodded in greeting as Hana smiled up at you. "Hello, (Y/N)!"
"U-um can we talk, Levi?" You asked. He stood, waiting for you to go on. "...alone." You said again.
Hana suddenly clutched her stomach, and groaned. "O-ow..."
"Hana?" Levi leaned down, looking at Hana. She didn't look up at him. "Ugh..."
Levi put his hands on the bars. "Sorry, (Y/N). Let's talk another time." And he wheeled her away.
This continued for some time until you finally found a time when she was alone and immediately used that time to confront her.
"Hana." You reached your hand out towards her as she immediately began wheeling away at your voice.
You walked after her. Fortunately, she was a lot slower than you had expected in a wheelchair.
"Stop following me!" She snapped, surprising you.
"But Hana...aren't we friends?" You asked softly.
"No! We aren't friends. Can't you see? I used you to get close to Levi!" She spit out.
Her voice echoed in your mind.
"I used you-"
"We aren't friends."
You balled up your fist. "But if that's true....even if what you say is true...I still want to believe you really saw me as a friend and not as a pawn!"
She smiled bitterly at you, her thin fingers clutching the wheelchair's wheels. "Believe it, kid."
You watched her leave the halls, her shadow casting figures on the wall.
Even after she left, you realized you had an opportunity to talk to Levi.
But when you tried, later that day...
"Levi..." You stared in horror as you spotted your captain. He was sitting on a bench with Hana.
A crumbling feeling in your chest.
A withering part of you.
Your eyes burned as you watched Levi sit there, Hana's head covering his face.
'They're...kissing?'
You didn't say anything, and began abruptly backing away.
'Get away from my sight.'
You ran away, tears just threatening to spill. 'You were the one who said 'don't leave me', Lev. You liar.'
You escaped to your room, your green cape fluttering behind you as you whirled around, and shut and locked the door.
You paced around your room, mixed emotions in your chest.
'I'm angry...I'm frustrated. I'm...'
A teardrop fell onto the floor.
'Sad?'
"Mr. Bunny." You clutched him in your hand. Without another thought, you flung him across the room.
He hit the wall, and fell into the floor. Just like you, who was leaning against the wall- your legs gave way...leaving you to sit thoughtfully against the wall, your tears not able to flow.
'But Levi. Didn't he reject Hana?'
'What...is going on?'
____
"Hey, Armin. Eren." You greeted him as he was studying a map. "Oh hey. (Y/N)." He smiled pleasantly.
Eren nodded in greeting. He seemed bored.
"Perfect timing. Hey- didn't you have to show me something?" Eren grabbed you by the wrist and tugged you outside before you could resist.
"What was that about?" You ask him, an eyebrow raised. He sighed. "You saved me. Armin was about to go through the whole architecture of the Walls again."
You grinned. "Sounds like fun. Does he do it all the time?" You ask, sitting on a bench right next to a sakura tree.
Eren sighed, and took a seat next to you. "Not always. Often." He corrected.
You nodded. "Right."
"So what's up with the tension?" He asked. "What tension?" You asked him curiously.
"Mikasa told me she noticed tension between you, Hana, and heichou."
You raised an eyebrow. "Mikasa said that did she?"
"Pretty much." Eren relaxed. "Anything you wanna talk about to me?"
You grimaced. "Sorry, Eren..."
He got up, and stretched. "No problem." He grinned, "I have the highest expectations for you."
You watched him jog away. "What are you, sixty-years old?" You yelled after him, watching him turn around and stick out his tongue at you.
