Your footsteps felt heavy as you ran out the door towards the only man you held hope towards. "Please- please help my dad." You begged, breathless.
Jin frowned the second his feet touched the ground. "What are you doing here?" His hands were at your arms within a second. "You shouldn't be here. It could be contagious."
"Aileen's not sick, and she's been with her parents during it." You insisted, planting your whole weight onto the ground. "I'm not leaving, Jin."
His frown deepened. "Aileen is here?"
"She's inside. That's not the point! Jin, help me!!" You clung to his sleeve, desperately. "Don't let him die, Jin-"
"As if I was planning on letting that happen..." He muttered, darkly as his mood took a turn for the worse. "I'm not leaving here without saving your dad."
He turned to face you with a softer look, "so don't worry. Please." As he walked into the doorway, he froze, his confidence fading.
Aileen's blaze red hair was barely visible from where you stood. They exchanged a few words before Jin hurried ahead further into the house.
"Well that's awkward for him," Aileen gently walked outside, looking over her shoulder. "Seeing two of his exes outside his friend's deathbed."
She quickly apologized. "I've been hanging around too many rude people for too long," she cursed to herself.
You stayed quiet, only allowing a smile to pass through. "So, what are you going to do?" The redhead asked, softly, drawing figures in the dirt with the tip of her shoe.
"I'll wait until he gets better and negotiate things with him."
Her eyes coolly slid over, resting as she looked at you from the corner of her eyes. "And...if he doesn't get better?"
You took a breath.
"We'll see. I need a favor, in the meantime."
"Uh-huh?"
"I need you to head back to Wall Rose, where the Survey Corps are. Explain my situation, and bring back this little German boy with the protective sister. There's no way you'll miss him. Just ask around. Oh, but don't bring the sister."
"Isn't that kidnapping?"
You turned your face towards the sun, and closed your eyes with a smile. "Not when I'm his babysitter."
___
"(Y/N), what's the meaning of this?! U-ugh, it's cold."
You looked up from your tea, and rose. Stretching as you walked out, you wore a small smile on your face.
"Eren! Welcome," you gestured, "to my humble abode."
"Okay, but why am I here..."
Your eyes narrowed as you took a look at Aileen. "You didn't tell him?"
She shrugged, grimacing. "He didn't believe me, so I kinda just knocked him out."
"That's kidnapping."
Eren stopped at the door. "So it's true, then? Your dad really is-" He gulped, looking nervous for your stead.
You smiled down at the younger one and, and you affectionately ruffled his hair as if he was a child. "Yeah."
"How is he?" Aileen asked, letting her steed rest as she pet it's flank. Ushering Eren inside, you told him to help himself to a drink.
"He hasn't gotten any better."
"Question."
"Denied-"
"What about your lover back in Wall Rose?"
"I said denied."
"You better figure something out soon. He told me to tell you something."
You perked up, a smile tugging the corners of your lips upwards.
"He said he'll give you a month."
Your smile crashed, just like the light feeling you had just moments ago. "What? He said- what? Levi?"
Aileen spread out her hands, helplessly. "Short, scary-looking, a bit sadistic nature?" She offered, meekly.
"Dammit." Your smile faded, and your head fell into your hands with a soft sigh. "You're not kidding, right?"
"It's all his words, (Y/N)."
Inside, the sound of metal crashing against the hard, wooden boards startled you and the woman with the chilling eyes.
"S-sorry!"
Aileen tried to show a smile. "Hey, will you be alright?" Her hand rubbed your shoulder awkwardly, as if she wasn't sure on how to comfort you.
Her eyes turned down as she sighed, her breath showing in the cold air. Long eyelashes shielded those chilling eyes, as the sun began to set.
She could only offer a little bit of warmth.
"Sorry," she shook her head. "I'll look after that Eren boy, so go get some rest now, okay? Everything will be better in the morning, trust me."
