♡ Insomniac Lover

"Do you feel like telling me today?" You asked, poking your head into Levi's room.

He was sitting at his desk, even though it was barely the crack of dawn.

"Are you an idiot- what are you doing? Go to sleep." Levi turned around in his chair to shoot you a glare. "You're going to get tired during practice."

"Hmph. A few measly miles is nothing!" You boasted, careful to not be too loud.

"Oh?" The Corporal raised his eyebrow. "It seems like it's too easy, then. We'll come up with something harder."

Your head dropped as you realized he was serious.

"And are you seriously stupid? Did you even sleep, or did you stay up all night just to burst into my room-"

'How did he know....' The color drained off your face as you heaved a sigh.

"On the other hand-" You switched topics, desperately, as you sat on his neatly made bed

His eyes twitched as you rumpled the bedsheets.

"What are you doing at that desk?" You finished.

Levi's lips turned into a smile. "What else should I do? Go take a dump?"

"You really like your poop jokes, huh?"

"They're more sophisticated than over half of the people here."

Levi had turned back around to work on his papers. "Aren't you tired of doing that?" You kicked your feet up in the air. "I'll help you," you offered.

"No thanks."

"What? Why!"

He turned around in his chair to throw you a wry smile. "This is my work. I don't want to burden you with something as boring as papers."

"Yeah, but..." You tilted your head, sighing, "aren't you tired? You barely even get over three hours of sleep a day."

"Tired?" Levi let out a small sound between a laugh and a sigh. "I don't get tired." You let your hand rest on his shoulder, surprising him.

"Ack-" He let out a grunt as he jerked away from you. All the papers went flying off his desk, littering the ground.

"Oh god, sorry..." You knelt down to pick them up, when Levi almost flew out of his chair. His hand brushed yours, as he stopped you.

"It's fine, I've got it."

You stood up, slowly, a confused expression on your face. "Are you being nice?" It was obvious when you had hit the spot, because he slightly staggered.

"Awh, you're being nice!" Without even caring that you were being loud, you threw yourself on him. He fell to the ground, surprised. "That's so cute..." You murmured, as your face neared his for a kiss.

"I'm not being nice." His voice was strained, and his face was burning red as you stared up at him. Levi met your eyes for a second, before he averted them. "Hold on, that's not what I meant."

You giggled at this, and wrapped your arms around his neck. "I think it's cute." Levi's expression turned dark, yet hints of blush still covered his face. "I'm not cute!"

"Don't yell, you'll wake up everyone!" You lowered your voice, and placed a kiss on his lips. "Seriously though, you're so cute!"

"I. Am. Not. Cute." He whispered, his expression dark as he placed kisses on your face.

"Oh, did I tell you?" You turned in your warm bed to face a fully-clothed Levi, who's eyes had been closed. "What?" He softly muttered.

"I have to go back to Utopia to check on my dad."

Suddenly, he seemed wide awake. "How long will you be gone...?"

'Awh.'

"Not long. Just a few days- will you miss me?" Asking, you cuddled closer to him, burying your face in his chest.

"...yeah."

Your eyes widened as he said this. They gradually returned to normal size, as you heard him add, "don't be gone for too long." You couldn't contain your smile, as you murmured, "I know. I'll be back, soon."

Levi thought for a moment, before speaking again. "Didn't your dad forbid you from joining?" You barely opened one eyes, responding, "you're the one that forced me..."

"What- you think he hates me now?"

'Is that worry?'

"Uhhh...I don't know." You sighed, and lifted your face to stare at Levi. "What are you worried about?"

"...it's nothing. Just come back. Please."
