Valentina

Danny sighed. "I want to fix things."

"What?"

"I've been thinking about this long and hard, and I need you back into my life, Val."

"Why would I ever give you another chance? You first off cheated on me with Katy and then you decide to leave us without any reason and here you are married to another woman."

"Tina isn't you, Valentina. Not even close."

I heard light footsteps behind me followed by an excited scream. "Daddy!"

Callie and Maverick ran up to Danny and hugged him. "Hi, guys."

Watching the interaction with Danny and our kids made my heart melt, but I deep down knew that I had no reason to trust him again. He hurt not only me, but our family. "What is it?"

"What?"

"I can sense that you're sad. What's wrong?"

"Are you serious?"

"Yes."

"You really can move on and forget about the past, Danny and it is astounding."

"I still love you, Valentina."

"You sure as hell didn't deserve my love."

"You probably are right. But I can't stop thinking about you."

"That's not my problem."

"I miss my kids, Val. I fucked up. I left like a coward leaving in the middle of the night, not thinking about how you and the kids felt."

"I've never been this hurt, Danny. I tried to move on, but I couldn't. I still can't."

"Mommy, can I take a nap?"

I looked at Callie and nodded. "Of course."

"Is daddy staying?"

"I..."

"Yes, sweetheart."

"Yay!"

After the kids went upstairs, Danny sighed. "Val, I fucked up."

"You sure did."

"I will do anything to change this."

"You really think you can just hit the rewind button and pretend nothing happened?"

"Well, no. But I need you back, I need our children."

"I don't know how you could make up for the emotional distress you put us through."

Danny stepped closer and gently caressed my cheek. "I'll do anything, Val."

"Does Tina know about this?"

He shook his head. "Not yet."

I stepped away and scowled. "Handle things with her and maybe we can

talk."

He smiled. "I'll take that as a yes."

"I didn't say yes, I will think about it."

"It's better than a no."

After Danny left, I grabbed the roses out of the vase and tossed them in the trash can. He hurt me. He left his family without even blinking twice yet he still wants to fix our family.
