Valentina

As his lips trailed to my neck, I stopped him. "We need to focus on this conversation."

"Sorry. I couldn't help myself."

"No one wants me to give you another chance. Hell, Micah doesn't even want you around the children."

"Well, that's her opinion."

"She doesn't want to see me hurt again by you."

"Val, I would do anything to fix us."

"You seriously need help Danny. Like professional help."

"I will do anything it takes. If you need me to see a therapist to help figure out why I've done what I have, I'll do it."

"Invest in that, and you will get one last chance and when I say one last chance, I mean it. Because if you do in fact change but choose to fuck up again, you will be completely cut off. Do you understand?"

"Yes."

"I feel like a fool giving you another chance, but this is your final test of loyalty, Danny. If you stop your cheating and remain loyal to your family, then things will change."

Danny nodded. "I can start tomorrow, but can you do me a favor if we work things out?"

"What?"

"Come back. You were a hard worker."

"I don't know."

"Please... I can make some phone calls and you'll be back within a few days."

"I guess. I don't have a job now and..."

"Good. I will make some phone calls, may I call you tomorrow?"

"Yeah."

"Good."

"Have a good day."

"You too, Valentina."

As he opened the door, he briefly paused. "One more thing..."

"What?"

He kissed me one last time and whispered, "I love you." After Danny left, I sighed. I knew Micah, Juan and Natalia would all want to kill me, but in the back of my mind, my children need their father.

Therapy was never something I have been fond of, but Valentina was right. I needed to stop being unfaithful and I truly needed to change for not only myself but for her and my kids.

My phone was blowing up with messages from Pete after I told him what I agreed to doing. "Dude, have you been getting my texts?"

"You mean all of them? Yes."

"You are going to therapy?"

"Val told me that I need it."

"She sure is not that smart to give you another chance."

"Pete, I love her."

"You are out of your damn mind, Danny."

"Possibly, but I will do anything it takes to work things out."

"You know her family will not approve of this, right?"

"Probably not, but I love her. I need her and my children in my life."

"I think you're making a mistake, Danny."

"No, I'm not. I want to change. For Val and my family."

"I personally don't think that you will ever change, man but that's not my problem. You can figure that out by yourself."

After I got off the phone with Pete, I had to go to my first consultation. This is going to be very interesting.
