What a Race

Four and Bob were on their way to the race, but Four had stopped to admire the beauty of the crisp, fall day. "MOVE IT! WE'RE GOING TO BE LAET!" Four sighed and caught up with Bob. He then had a questionable thought and asked Bob "Why are you so eager about the race? You're not running." Bob really enjoyed being the announcer at the competition and wanted to do it for the race.

"JUST LISTEN TO THIS!" Bob said as he practiced his announcer voice. "LADIES AND GENTS. WELCOME-" Just before he could finish, they had gotten too the race and an echoing voice said "Welcome to the big race of leaves or something!" Four and Bob looked up to find Mario was in a balloon, already doing the announcing. Bob grunted angrily as Four said "Sorry Bob. Looks like that job was taken already."

Who in their right mind would have hired Mario to be the announcer anyway? "This is a big tradition because of something to do with leaves or spaghetti. Ooooo spaghetti. Mario's hungry now!" Turns out he was doing a terrible job.

The race was about to begin so all the racers were heading to the starting line. Meggy and some of the other runners were stretching when someone was pushing through the crowd. "Make way for the champion!" Three bragged as he pushed through the crowd. "More like the scammer..." Meggy mumbled as he came up to her. "So squid, ready to win second place." She scowled at him and said in a calm, clean voice "I'm ready to run a fair race." Three just waved his hand mockingly. "Yeah. Yeah." Since she couldn't tell if Three was still going to honor his word, Meggy called him out for it.

"You are not allowed to use your powers!" Three just gave her a slide glance and bragged "I can win this thing with both hands inside my pockets." Just then Mario called out "Racers, take your places!" Bob came up and tried to be nice to Mario. Not really because he was a jerk to almost everyone. "HEY MARIO!"

Mario waved back and said "Hey Bob! What's up...Oh wait. Mario's up!" Ignoring that joke, Bob tried to persuade the fat Italian. "I NEED A FAVOR." Mario suddenly got the hint. "Oh do you want to be the announcer with Mario!" He tossed a rope down and as Bob climbed up, Mario said "Silly Bob. You could have just told Mario from the start that-" Just then Bob kicked him out of the balloon. "THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE." He watched as Mario fell down to the ground and he threw the rope out of the balloon. "LOL GET RIGGITY RIGGITY WRECKED! BOB CAN ONLY BE THE ANNOUNCER HERE!"

Mario got up and yelled "Hey! No one does that to Mario!" He was going to get back in that balloon. Meggy and Three took their positions, but then saw a familiar face next to them. "Four!? What are you doing up here?" Four smiled and said "I'm racing!" The two of them changed glances until Three started laughing and said "Yeah right!" Four rolled his eyes and said "I'm being serious." Three immediately stopped laughing and turned back. "WHAT!? You aren't athletic. You're an idiot."

Four took very much offense to that and retorted back "I am not an idiot! I'm just not the brightest person." Three just muttered "idiot..." and replied back "Whatever...baka." Meggy gave him a raised eyebrow and asked "Have you actually run a race before?" Four tapped his index fingers and said "Well...no...but I have researched a lot about running."

"Pfff. Like that's going to help. What websites have your level of intelligence? 'The idiot's guide to running?'" Four just groaned and rolled his eyes again. "Laugh now if you want, but this is an annual tradition and I wanted to experience it for myself." Meggy didn't judge as much as Three did as she thought it was a nice idea.

"Well that sounds great Four. Good luck!" Three snickered and said "See you at the finish line...TOMORROW!" Meggy laughed a little bit too as Four just ignored them. Bob noticed Mario was itching to get back in the balloon, so he quickly started the race.

"ON YOUR MARKS...GET SET...GO!" The racers took off as Bob followed them with the balloon. "SO LONG FAT IDIOT!" Bob called off. Mario was not deterred as he was going to teach Bob a lesson.
