Some Fierce Competition

It was too late to back out now. Everyone had gathered in the stadium for the competition was underway. Three was parading up and down as he was about to be showcased in front of millions. Normally, Three would do anything to gain an admirable reputation, but the thought of how much it could backfire made him realize he didn't want to do it anymore.

To try and take his mind off things, he peeked through the curtains to see his friends all excitedly waiting on the bleachers. Bowser looked at him with a pleased smile. "Too chicken to admit you're doomed?"

"SHADDAP!!!" Three retorted back when the announcing voice began to speak. "Hello and welcome to the annual best YouTube competition! Please welcome the beloved Princess Peach!" Peach and two of her toads were waving until Mario threw a rock at her and shouted "Finally do something other than being kidnapped I see!" Peach threw something back at him and ignored him.

Bowser's eyes immediately went into hearts as he pushed Three over and said "Don't ruin this for me Bub." The announcer continued "Please welcome our celebrity judge for this year's competition...MR YEAST!" The famous YouTuber sat down at the judge booth and said to the camera "I'm going to donate $10,000 for everyone that competes!"

"And now let's see who will take the title of this year's popular YouTuber!" The first competitor went up, but then Three realized that he was the second one up. Not so soon! I can't go on now! He searched in a panic to find someone to switch with. Bowser was bragging to someone with a number five card. Three gained evilly and innocently swapped their cards. "Oi! That's you idiot!" Bowser glanced at his card and his face melted into uneasiness as he rushed out in a state of panic.

Three chuckled, watching that stupid turtle struggle like that. He didn't stop there though as he snuck through the crowd of competitors, switching out cards with higher numbers so he could avoid his future embarrassment and failure. Melony popped out of the dressing room to say "I'm competitor four so if someone could just go ahead that would be greatly appreciated. I'm still getting ready."

Three was still looking around in a panic until he spotted someone with the number fifteen card. Bingo! Meanwhile out in the stadium, the friends were enjoying the show while Mario was still recovering from that bruise on his head. "Number seven is quite impressive. Maybe I should try that for some of my videos." Tari nodded and pointed to another competitor. "I think number ten is my favorite." Meggy looked out quizzically and wondered "How come we haven't seen Three or Melony yet? The event is almost over." They all shrugged.

Three was freaking out inside his head while shaking on the floor until the door swung open. Melony was in quite the shows toping outfit that flowed quite nicely in the wind of her wings. There was only enough time for one more performance so Melony held a hand out to Three and said "Shall we Three?"

"And for our last competitor of the day, contestant number fifteen...and apparently contestant number four." The four of their friends cheered as Melony comforted Three. "Good luck! Just do your best!" Melony began twirling around and doing some kind of ballet moves in the air while Three was still on the ground. He cleared his head and gave himself a pep talk. "Snap out of it! Just do the routine like you practiced." Just like during practice, he leapt and and bounced off the beams pretty well. Everything was going good until he tripped and collapsed into the ground. "Nice going loser!" Three gave him a quick glare and tried to continue on with the routine.

Meggy was still doing twirls in the air and Three tried to concentrate on the spinners, but his doubt got the best of him as he smashed right into one, sending one of the boards that almost hit Peach by an inch. "Who did that!?" Toad looked at it and said "Critics these days..."

Melony took a breath and told herself "Now for the finale, I will beam my beautiful wings over the entire Mushroom Kingdom! They'll be talking about it for years!" She said that last part in a steal as she flew off towards the sun. Three was doing horribly and there was only one more chance to turn it around. He gulped as he said "The...bomb blast."

When Melony had made it up to the sun, she wiped some sweat off her forehead and cried out "Yay! I did it!" The rainbow colors captured the audience in a ray of amazement and speechless shock that burned with....wait burning? A smoke smell engulfed Melony's wings till the poofed into a pile of ashes. "Uh oh." With nothing left to keep her bound in the air, Melony fell down in terror that was followed with screams.
