Too quick to judge

Morshu tried to get away from these crazy lunatics that were chasing him, but they were hot on his trail. To lose them, he decided to run around a tree with Four and Tari copying him. This went on for sometime as it continued to speed up until Four and Tari were now sprinting around the tree and Morshu was standing there, watching. He rolled off which brought Four to a screeching halt and he yelled "He's getting away!" with a drastic point.

The two toad guards from earlier were now asking citizens for the missing meme. They held up a picture of Morshu to a Goomba and he shook his head. The stupidest part about this was Morshu was rolling away just behind them and nobody bothered to even notice. Tari and Four ran through Mushroom City before spotting a familiar figure, sitting on a bush with a newspaper blocking his face. The two walked up to him and the paper lowered to find Morshu had disguised himself with a thick mustache.

The two actually believed it was someone else and ran off as Morshu shrugged and reading his paper. Four was now gingerly tiptoeing behind the guards as they were standing just a few feet away. Tari was keeping a close eye as well for both had the fear of what would come if they were spotted with this particular meme, much less chasing it.

Now it was some kind of Scooby Doo parody as the three began running too and from multiple doors and just when it seemed like Four was going to catch the slippery guy, he slammed into Tari. Now they had certainly lost Morshu and who knows where he could have gotten off to. Turns out he was scribbling on a wanted meme poster of himself that the Toads had put up.

The two had searched everywhere except for one place...Peach's castle... It was also just their luck that their friends were hanging outside as well. There was no time to worry about that. Three was the first to notice them and what a hurry they were in from sprinting up. "Why the hell are you in such a rush?" They ran past him and Four told him "No time for that Three! We're looking for something important!"

Mario was happily munching on spaghetti when Tari lifted him up (how did she manage to lift all that weight). "Sorry Mario." He waved and said "Ohoho hello Tari!" Four politely pushed Melony over so he could check as well. "Sorry Melony." Meggy was confused and dressed this stage behavior of theirs. "I'm with Three. What are you guys doing?" They took a break from searching so Tari could explain. "Sorry about that. We're trying to find-"

"THE MISSING MEME!"

All of them looked to see the two Toad guards, who had so conveniently come to look in the same place as they were, had spotted Morshu and the crew whipped their heads around to see Morshu on top of the castle tower, looking awfully faded. "Morshu! Come down! You'll hurt yourself!" Tari called out.

A grey covering had completed covered him as he no longer had any control and fell off the roof. Tari became extremely frantic, running out and screaming "I'll catch you!" Her eyes were pinned onto him until Morshu had disintegrated into a pile of dust, causing Tari to stop in her tracks as the sand-like substance filled her hands and slipped through the cracks of her fingers. Everyone gasped except for Tari because tears were welling up in her eyes. Why did she do this? Why couldn't she have just left it alone?

To make matters worse, Smg1 and Smg2 came up and asked sternly "What is going on here?" They eyed them all suspiciously and turned towards Four. "Smg4?" His eyes widened as he sighed and said glumly "Yes...I know....there's been a terrible accident." Tari couldn't let her friend take the blame for what she had done. She ran in front of him and said "It wasn't him. This was all my fault."

Four pushed her aside and said "Tari didn't know any better. It was my fault."

"But I'm the one who did it."

"You were only trying to help."

"Some help I was..."

"Would you let me take the blame. They'll go easier on me."

"But it's my fault."

"No it's my fault!"

Mario popped up between them and cheered "No it's Mario's fault!" He smiled cross eyed and then scratched his head in confusion. "What are we talking about?" Tari finally was ready to own up to her mistakes and said "Thanks for trying to protect me Four, but Smg1 and Smg2...I was the one who took Morshu."

Their eyes softened as Tari pleadingly told them "I was only trying to help him and then I was going to bring him right back to you honest." They looked over the grey dust and looked at one another. "So if you want to banish me, snap me from reality, or whatever you want to do...then that's what I deserve."

It actually looked like a pretty sad moment as the two looked like they were going to mourn the parting until they started snickering. "Relax everyone. This is normal." They all let out a big "HUH!?" They soon watched as the dust flew into the air and Morshu returned, looking healthy and happy as ever. Tari blinked a few times and asked "What happened to Morshu?"

"This is Morshu! It's nothing unusual for a meme cycle. Isn't that right Morshu?" The meme happily replied "mmMMMMMM" in nodding approval. "A meme cycle?" The two nodded as One explained "Memes are majestic and strange creatures. While their relevance keeps them happy and healthy most of the time, every so often they must renew themselves by being tending to at the internet graveyard. Sometimes they may be corrupted from being here too long, but I think someone got behind on their duties..." The two suspiciously eyed Four as he nervously laughed and said "My bad..." Four hadn't really be keeping up to date on his meme studies for a while and completely forgot to record Morshu to maintain the status.

"Anyways...it's all just part of the normal life of a meme cycle. We do have to apologize for Morshu having a little fun with you Tari." She was still unsure if she was going to be punished. "So aren't you going to banish me or something?" They laughed and said "Of course not! Why would you think that?" Tari shared a glance with Four as she rolled her eyes and said "I guess I have quite the imagination."

Four came up and explained "Tari was really trying to do everything she could to make Morshu feel better." She nodded. "Well we do appreciate that you had good intentions, but all you had to do was ask us and we could have told you about it and saved you all this trouble."

"I know. I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions. Next time I'll ask before taking matters into my own hands." Four pondered about something and asked the two "Should I write down that lesson for you or...."

"No that's alright. I'm sure we can remember." The two had the Toads bring up the cage so they could take Morshu back to continue their studies. Tari waved to him and said "Goodbye Morshu!" Three looked over at the guards and got a scathingly good idea. He smirked and whispered to the meme some barely audible sentences. He rolled over to them and said "You want it!" He pulled out some candy and threw it, making the guards leap over to it and begin slurping it like dogs. "Suckers!" Three pointed as all of them laughed. A Toad could never resist candy.
