Last Day of Winter

It was a chilly night and everyone was still asleep at Peach's castle. The sound of nothingness, faltered when Four's phone alarm rang. He instantly shot up, exclaiming "It's here!" He raced into the main hall and turned on the light. Peach came out of her room, rubbing her eyes. "Huh? What's going on?" Four was grabbing everything he needed for...whatever was making him so ecstatic. "It's winter wrap up day! The last day of spring is tomorrow so we all need to finish cleaning up winter."

He pulled on his boots that had that cozy, fuzzy fur. "Clean up winter? Who cleans up winter at 4:00 in the morning?" You might be asking why anyone would need to clean up winter when the seasons change by their own. Things worked a little differently in the Mushroom Kingdom as the first day of spring was March 19th, meaning that all the ice and snow had to be gone by tomorrow. The change in temperature was not nearly quick enough for that to work.

Four ignored what Peach said as he zipped up his winter coat. "You know I'm supposed to be in charge of all this tomorrow and I can't do that if I CAN'T SLEEP!" Four was still not listening as this time, he was tying his scarf. "This is ridiculous! I'm going back to sleep..." She grumbled something and slammed the door to her room. Four took out a checklist he had made for his getting ready routine. "Scarf, check! Jacket, check! Boots, check!" He even expected for Peach to get up and go back to bed.

"Now I'm ready bright and early!" Four swung open the main doors to find that everything was pitch black and nobody was stirring. "Oops. Maybe a little too early..." He said sheepishly. Well now what? He couldn't really clean up winter if he was the only one up. With too much energy to go back to sleep, he decided to get some work for his channel done. Best to use this time doing something productive.

~A few hours later~

Now that everyone was up, Bob and Four headed off to join the meeting before getting started. They noticed that everyone had on a vest that signified what job they were doing. Blue, Green, and Tan. "I wonder which vest I'll be getting." This was Four's first time participating in the winter wrap up. He never really looked into it because he was always making memes or watching videos. This was going to be the year that he was going to contribute his share to his friends. "LET ME GO BACK TO BED. IT'S TOO EARLY FOR THIS." Bob was certainly not a morning riser.

He and Four went to join the crowd as Peach made her announcement. "Thank you everyone for getting here on time. We all need to help clean up winter as spring starts tomorrow. Now everyone has been assigned to their teams, so let's do better than last year and have our quickest winter wrap up ever!" Four kept flailing his arms around to signify he still needed his assignment, but Peach just ignored him. "Alright everyone, find your leader and let's get to work!" Four's excitement faded when he saw everyone rush off into different directions.

"Wait! Where should I go?" He looked at all the different teams. What would his strengths be useful in? "What exactly does everybody do?"

*Song starts*

The screen faded into black and a spotlight shinned onto Three. "3 months of freaking blizzards and stupid holidays..."

Another light shown on Mario. "Mario's kept his feet warm and spent time to play!"

Meggy came up, followed by another spotlight. "But we've missed the homemade cooking and we can't live in this cold."

Melony finished up by saying "And even though I love the snow, I miss the sunshined days..."

Four trudges through the snow with Bob trailing behind him. "The time has come to welcome spring and all things warm and green, but it's also time to say goodbye for it's winter we must depart. How can I help? Do you see? What does everybody do? How do I fit in with my talents? I haven't got a clue."

Other citizens join in singing, "Winter wrap up! Winter wrap up! Let's finish our holiday cheer! Winter wrap up! Winter wrap up!" Meggy is walking when Three cuts her off and strikes his signature pose. "Cause tomorrow spring is here! Cause tomorrow spring is here!"

Three is dieting a bunch of memes in countless directions. "Bringing home the southern birds, my lad's job begins! Clearing out those gloomy skies as the sun shines in! We drive away the cold and thaw out the snow!" Knuckles take out a radiator and points it towards the heaps of snow. "We don't care who's problem it becomes!"

A bunch of toads bring in carts full of supplies. "Winter wrap up! Winter wrap up! Let's finish our holiday cheer!" Melony starts getting to work on some kind of craft. "Winter wrap up! Winter wrap up! Cause tomorrow spring is here!"

Yoda was taking a giant broom and sweeping across the snow at full speed. "Winter wrap up! Winter wrap up! Cause tomorrow spring is here! Cause tomorrow spring is here!"

The toads are ringing bells to wake up hibernating animals. "Little creatures hibernate under the flakes of snow." Tari pets a bunny softly. "We wake up these sweeties quietly and nice."

Baskets of foods are being distributed and feather dusters are being poked around the hidey holes. "We help them gather food and fix homes below."

"We welcome back the southern birds and watch their families grow!" Four and Bob watch as colorful birds fly through the sky. "Winter wrap up! Winter wrap up! Let's finish our holiday cheer! Winter wrap up! Winter wrap up! Cause tomorrow spring is here!" Koopas are stomping down snow from the trees. While Bob and Four watch, Three knocks some snow down on Four. Four gives a sudden glare at him while he just watches with a smug grin. "Winter wrap up! Winter wrap up! Cause tomorrow spring is here! Cause tomorrow spring is here!"

Meggy and her inkling friends are helping Luigi with gardening. They pull rakes to clear the snow as Luigi sets up his seeds. "It's not easy to clear the thick snow, plant these seeds." Luigi starts burying seeds in a section of dirt. "With proper care and sunshine, my flowers will thrive." He lists out all his different types while Meggy looks scatterbrained. Shaking her head, she continues to sing. "We must work with all our strength, it's just so much to do!"

Animals are bouncing around as the citizens keep singing. "Winter wrap up! Winter wrap up! Let's finish our holiday cheer!" Toads are shoveling snow off the roofs of their houses. "Winter wrap up! Winter wrap up! Cause tomorrow spring is here!" Down at the lake Mario, is gliding across on skates. "Winter wrap up! Winter wrap up! Cause tomorrow spring is here! Cause tomorrow spring is here!"

Four walks under a spotlight in the dark. "Now that I know what we all do, I have to find my place. Help with all of my strength. This tough task that I must now face." He walks up a mountain and sings off the cliff while Bob looks confused. "BRUH! ARE YOU HIGH OR SOMETHING!?"

"How will I do it with my talents and help the way I can? I want my link so I must do my best today! Do my best today!"

"Winter wrap up! Winter wrap up! Let's finish our holiday cheer!" Three immediately steals the spotlight as he directs the camera onto him. "Winter wrap up! Winter wrap up! Cause tomorrow spring is here!"

As they continue singing, Four finishes off the song. "Cause tomorrow spring is here! Cause tomorrow spring is here! Cause tomorrow spring is heeerrrreee!" All the friends around him start to fade as the only one left is Bob.

*Song ends*

Bob just stares at Four annoyed. "ARE YOU FINISHED?" Four sighs and says "No Bob. Not until I find out what I'm meant to do."
