Left Behind (Suntan)

(Author's note:I've got more time this week so I'll have more chapters coming out.)

"You're coming with me Kel. The Murderer can take care of himself." "Please stop that Hero." Kel said softly, obviously hurt by the way Hero acted.Sunny could see tears start to form in Kel's eyes, and got increasingly worried about the state of the brothers' friendship. He turned towards Hero and stared at him long and hard, then said: "I can go. Please stop making Kel sad."

Hero turned his face towards Sunny and grimaced. Sunny could feel his heartbeat quicken, and he clenched his hands, but managed to calm down. Hero stared at him unmovingly, and Sunny reassured himself that holding eye contact would not cause Hero to turn feral and go on a rampage, which it did with most animals. Kel looked up, and wiped his eyes on his hand, and stepped in front of Sunny, frustrated with the way that both Hero and Sunny were acting. He cried: "I'm not going with you unless Sunny can come with us too." This shocked Hero and Sunny and Sunny started murmuring for Kel to stop, while Hero's eyes widened, and he grit his teeth. "Fine. He can come with."

The ride back home was silent and awkward, as no one tried to spark a conversation, not even Kel, the most outgoing, extroverted person Sunny had ever seen, was silently staring out the window. His face neutral, as if not trying to show emotion. He can pull it off even better than Omori... Thought Sunny, and could almost hear a faint grumbling echoing through his head. The ride continued, Hero frowning and glancing up at the rearview mirror, as if he suspected that Sunny would try to murder Kel, or worse, make out with him. Sunny watched as the scenery went by, and smiled softly as his home came into view. The trio got out of the car, and Sunny waved goodbye to Kel, who responded with a smile that didn't reach his eyes. Kel then followed Hero into their house, his eyes not holding the sparkle they once had.
