Kel froze, and quietly stood up, but didn't turn to face Hero. "I understand that you hate Sunny for something that he did on Accident and I understand that you hate both Basil and Sunny for something they did as Kids. Have you ever thought about what Mari would have felt? And before you go all emo on me and say you're doing this for my own good, and you know Mari better than anyone else since you were her Boyfriend let me inform you that we were all her friends, and we all loved her just as much as you. I am going to turn around, and I know you will physically harm me, and I am ready."
Kel finished his rant, then spun to face Hero. Kel could feel a sharp pain on his cheek.
Hero had slapped him.
Kel looked straight ahead, staring at Hero's shaking figure. Hero then turned tail and stomped out the door. Obviously going to sulk in some corner, Kel thought. Kel went back to packing, stuffing all his essentials in his bag. He made his way downstairs and grabbed the house keys, waved bye to his parents, then made the short walk to Sunny's house.
"Hiiii Sunnnyy!" Kel exclaimed, as Sunny opened the door. Sunny stared, surprised, and questioned : "What are you doing here?" "I'm gonna stay at your house while mom, dad and Hero are away!" Then Kel added sheepishly, "If that's okay with you of course...." Sunny nodded, and welcomed Kel inside. "Wow! The inside hasn't changed a bit! Something's off though..." Kel looked around, trying to pinpoint the difference, then pointed towards an object. " You have a DVD player!" Sunny nodded. "My mother got it when we were moving, but then we didn't move.... Maybe next time we get ready to move, I'll ask Basil to stab my other eye, then we have a new thing, and we stay in Faraway!" Sunny's eyes lit up, obviously pleased with his idea, while Kel stared at him, horrified. "Sunny no! You're not gonna ask Basil to stab your other eye out!" Sunny chuckled, amused then reassured Kel that he was simply kidding. The two boys continued to chatter as they set up everything for Kel's stay.
