Part 41

"Excited for school ?" I gave my mom a blank stare and I think that answered her question "hey it's okay, I mean you have pretty low expectations so it can't get too bad"

"Sure mom" I mutter as I grab a piece of bread and put Nutella on it

I was wearing a black pair of jeans and a blue knitted sweater and had braided two pieces of my hair connecting them in the back and leaving the rest to just fall naturally

"You'll be alright darling" mom said as she planted a kiss on my forehead

"Yeah you'll be alright" Leena said as she entered the kitchen "And if not, you only have a few months left until summer break so fuck them"

"Leena language"

"Sorry mom"

"I hate school" Walker grumbled as he got into the kitchen and leaned against the kitchen island

"Who doesn't ?"

We put our jackets and shoes on and left the house, Tanner was taking the bus since his school was a little further away, Leena drove with her friends just because they could and Walker and I walked to our school

"I bet $5 that Sarah's gonna be a pain in my ass today"

"I won't bet on that obviously she will" Walker said, he watched as I kicked a rock with every step I took

"My first class today is chem, Jason is my lab partner"

"Can't you like ask someone to switch ?"

"Who would want to switch ? It's not like I have any friends in the class" sure I got along with a lot of them but we have never really been friends and I don't know what is going to change now but it terrifies me already

When I looked over to Walker he was texting with someone so I didn't keep bothering him, I was  way too tired be annoying yet anyways

We got into school and I felt a few conversations die down and a few heads turn but I wasn't going to let that get to me

We walked to our lockers which were not that far apart and put our bags in, taking out the things we would need for first period and then separated for our classes

I walked into the chem lab and immediately saw a few girl nudging each other and nodding to me, Jason and his friends weren't here yet so I at least didn't have to face him yet, though my heart was racing

Mr. Johnson, our chem teacher was already there but didn't pay me much attention yet, he had to do that during class when everyone was listening of course

I walked towards my table in the front but a guy, his name was Micheal I knew him from Walker, they were friends, called my name and motioned for me to come to him in the back

I considered it for a second but thought what is the worst possible thing that could happen, so I walked up to him

"You're my lab partner now, I talked with mr. Johnson already" Micheal was the loud guy in class, someone who always had something to say and was not scared to say it but also didn't annoy the people he was around by doing so but entertained them

"What do you mean ?"

"You're here now" he nodded towards a seat

"Why ?"

"Why not ? Unless of course you'd rather sit in the front" I didn't protest more and just took my seat silently genuinely grateful for being saved from Jason but still not convinced that he would want me to be his lab partner because why not

Jason walked in a moment later with a few of his friends, his eyes immediately went to where my usual seat was but he didn't see me, his eyes scanned the room until they landed at me but I didn't look at him, I couldn't bare it.

"Alright class now settle down please" his eyes wandered the class as everyone took their seats "oh miss Scobell I thought we wouldn't see you again with how much you are missing lately" I just looked at him, I was at loss with words "Nothing to say ? Hopefully you never had that happen during the interviews right ?"

"I-"

"I mean after all that press I would've assumed you would have a little more to say now" I felt everyone's eyes on me, I heard whispers, then my eyes looked with Jason's and I felt like I forgot how to talk

"Mr. Johnson , I don't think you can talk to a student that way" I looked at Micheal next to me who had his hand up and was talking "I mean I think that's against the law"

"You don't worry about the law Micheal I know when not to talk"

"Do you ? I mean I can ask my mother real quick, just to be sure. But I personally would say that's not alright, trying to humiliate students because they're more successful than you" our teacher looked like he was about to shoot fire out of his ears

"You can talk about the law during politics young man we're here for science today and I would like to not waste any more time" he turned his back to us writing something on the board

"Thank you" i whispered to my partner

"Don't worry about it, that guy is a dick. A jealous one too, you're more successful than him at 14 and he's what like 266 ? He needed to be called out for a while now anyways"

"15" I corrected "but yeah that dude has a problem with like everyone"

The rest of the class went pretty peaceful, it was obvious Micheal and Mr. Johnson didn't get along very good, something I hadn't noticed before today

Please tell me why I just finished writing this and then realised that they already are in high school cause like summer has passed 😭
I went back and changed everything I found but please like forgive me if some things don't make sense 😔
(Also if anyone didn't make the connection Walker texted Micheal to switch partners so Belle didn't have to be with Jason)
