"I think you should tell him, he looks really cute"

"But what if he doesn't like me? That'd be so embarrassing" Darcy said laying down on my bed

"I'm really sure he does, he keeps complimenting you and he's really nice to you and he gives you nicknames, he listens to you, he cares about you Darcy that boy really likes you"

"Really ?"

"Yeah I think you should shoot your shot" I smile at her

"I should, shouldn't I ? I mean lives too short anyways who knows what'll happen tomorrow" my heart hurt for her, it must be so scary living like that "Belle can I tell you something ?"

"Yeah ? Of course"

"Stop worrying so much about the friendship, live is too short to overthink everything" I looked at her

"Darcy darling ? Hey can you come out here please we need to talk about something"

"Coming mom" she gave me one last look before leaving my room, leaving me staring at my blanket. I had been caring so much about this Aryan thing when people were literally dying out there, Darcy was just a few months older than me and could be facing death any second with her Leukaemia

Darcy didn't come back after the talk with her mother, I texted her a lot but she also didn't reply

3 hours after nothing from Darcy I decided to go to her room, slowly and carefully

She was on the floor above me, I went up with the elevator and searched for her room number, when I found her her door was open, she had her bags packed and was sitting on her bed without her wig, I rarely saw her without her wig since she said she felt more comfortable and confident with it

"Darcy ?" She looks up at me when she hears her name wiping away a few tears, I walk into her room which had lost the homey touch she had put into it and looked like a blank room now

"Belle"

"Are you okay ? What happened ?" I ask now worried about her as I sit down next to her

"Oh it's nothing don't worry about me" I did worry, I worried a lot

"Come on, we're friends right ? Please tell me if somethings wrong or if I can help" she shook her head with a slight laugh wiping away more tears

"I really don't think you can help, but thank you" I kept looking at her until she finally looked up at me "my parents can't afford the chemo anymore, this whole year has been really rough on them between the hospital and their work,... it's just not enough anymore" my heart broke a little hearing that, she was fighting death at 15 years old and now all her weapons got taken because of money ? This healthcare system sucks

"I'm so sorry Darcy"

"No it's fine, we don't know how much longer I would've made it anyways"

I couldn't sleep that night, I kept tossing and turning but nothing could get me to fall asleep

I sat up on my bed and reached for my phone

"Belle ? Honey it's 1 am you should be sleeping is everything alright ? Did something happen ?"

"No no I'm fine"

"You scare me Belle, what's wrong ?"

"I want to do something mom"

"Can't that wait for tomorrow?"

"No it really can't"

"Alright, tell me"

"Belle ! Belle." I opened my eyes to Darcy smiling brightly shaking me awake

"What is it ?"

"Someone anonymously paid for my entire treatment, can you believe it ? Maybe humanity isn't all that terrible" She had a huge smile on her face which led me to smiling too

"Really ? Oh I'm so happy for you Darc"

"I can't believe it, who would do something like that ? That's like probably ten-thousands of dollars"

"I don't know"

"I wish they didn't do it anonymously, I would love to thank them personally, this is huge they could be reason I maybe one day get cancer free"

"Maybe they didn't want to be praised for it"

"I don't know, well I gotta set my room back up, will you come by later ? Before you leave I mean ?"

"Of course, I would never leave without saying goodbye to you" she left my room happily leaving me with a smile on my lips

I had the chance to turn someone's life around, I had the possibility to do it and I did, I would've wanted for someone to do this for me if I had been in her position, this was the only right thing to do

Everyone deserves the chance to life even if live makes it hard sometimes

"Good morning Belle" Mom says entering my room with a slight knock

"Morning mom"

"So how are you feeling today ?"

"Honestly ? Amazing, Darcy was just here and she looked so happy, she was so happy, I think I want to do more things like this" mom smiled at me

"Look at my little girl, so grown up helping others now" she brushed a few pieces of hair behind my ear making me scrunch my nose

"Moom"

"I'll go get a doctor so we can get you checked out of here okay ?" I nodded reaching for my phone

I grinned at my phone seeing her messages, my heart skipping a beat remembering what I had told her yesterday after talking with Darcy
