── Misaki could never have anticipated what awaited her in the years to come-her tumultuous feelings, her fractured famil...
"You missed out on the bell training yesterday," Lady Tsunade said the moment I stepped a foot inside her office. Her tone was disappointed, which echoed off the walls of the spacious room.
I kept on walking to her desk in a completely neutral pace, the soles of my shoes padding softly against the polished wood of the floor. "I didn't see a point in me being there," I said coolly, staring straight into her eyes. "It's just going to be Kakashi-Sensei and Sakura. Neither of them would even recognize I wasn't even there."
"They did, Misaki," Tsunade said as she put down the paper she was reading onto the mahogany desk with a decided thud. "If you continue ignoring my orders, then the elders will only become further displeased with you."
"Why does it even matter?" I replied in a disinterested tone. "They should've died a long time ago."
"Those kids were truly annoying," Hanami's voice hummed in my mind.
"Well, they aren't kids anymore," I replied with an eye-roll, my tone thick with sarcasm. Tsunade shot me a weird look, clearly confused by the eye roll she did not expect from me, but she decided to press on, lecturing me ever so slightly.
"Misa," Tsunade sighed frustrated. "This is exactly why they don't like you."
I met her with a blank stare. "They don't like me because I'm Uchiha," I said flatly.
Tsunade sighed heavily, her eyes softening. "That isn't true, Misaki," she began.
"It is, Tsunade, and I was training with Anko last night anyway. I found no need to participate in any training with Kakashi and Sakura," I replied firmly. Tsunade let out a sigh and I could tell that she is concerned about me.
"After you finish training with me for the day, you go straight to training more with Anko. You need to remember not to over-exert yourself," Tsunade scolded lightly.
"I know what I'm doing," I said blandly, brushing off her concern.
That illness of mine has caused her to be overprotective.
"Misa—" Tsunade began, but before she could finish, her office door burst open with a loud bang.
"Say, Granny Tsunade! What's our mission?" An enthusiastic voice rang out, filling the room with an energy that nearly crushed me.
"Knock, Naruto!" Sakura exclaimed annoyed. I froze, my heart pounding in my chest as I refused to turn around.
When did Naruto come back to the village?
It had almost been three and a half years, and my feelings for him didn't fade; in fact, they had grown much deeper. The last time that we met before he left me in a sentimental emotional state. I had confessed my love to him while he lay unconscious, and shared a hug before he was off to train. I never thought that one day, Naruto would wrap his arms around me and whisper in my ear that he would come back to me safely.
