"What did you need?" I asked Madara, struggling to move as fast as I used to. "You ask a lot from someone who is eight months pregnant."
"Apologies, my dear," he replied, his voice deep and piercing.
"So?" I continued.
"I thought I should talk to you about the sudden change of plans," he said.
I frowned. "What do you mean?"
"I feel like you aren't really needed anymore. You should rest; you are eight months pregnant, after all," Madara replied. "And there's also the fact that you only have a couple of months left to live. Your impulsive decision to skip that one tablet has now ruined everything."
"I wouldn't have skipped it if I'd known I was pregnant," I said.
"Still, a reckless decision," Madara said sternly. "The boy is going to grow up without a mother and a father."
My face scrunched in confusion. "The baby boy will have Naruto."
"As if Naruto would still want to be around you after the stunt you pulled a couple of months ago," he replied. My gaze fell to the floor at his words, feeling the impending guilt rise within me.
He scoffed. "Come here," he ordered. I followed his request and stood next to him.
We overlooked a vast field of vibrant green grass that stretched endlessly under the midday sun, the horizon gently curving in the distance about eight kilometers away. The village lay just beyond the reach of my sight, and I wondered why we were so close.
We stood on the edge of a towering cliff, the ground falling away seventy meters below us to a rocky expanse that met the lush grassland. The sheer drop made my heart race, a mix of fear and awe at the raw beauty and danger of the place.
"Why are we here?" I asked, confusion threading through my voice.
"Do you not know what this place is?" Madara's tone was almost reverent. "This field that lies northeast of the village?"
"Not that I know of, no," I replied.
"This field is where Uchiha Hanami died," Madara said, looking down at the bright green grass through the singular hole in his mask.
"And?" I asked, not wanting to delve into the situation. Even though Hanami was no longer connected to my soul, hearing anything about her angered me deeply. I didn't like anything said about her, not at all.
