I woke up in the same position where I must have dozed off, my head on Naruto's chest and his arm securely wrapped around me. A soft hum of contentment escaped my lips as I burrowed in further into his comforting embrace. I repositioned to get a better look at him. His face was sideways, his lips parted, and my heart skipped a beat. He was all mine.
With a tender smile, I bent down and lightly touched a soft kiss onto the corner of his lips, then showered soft kisses along the jawline. Stirring a little, he let out from his mouth a soft hum of approval.
I burrowed back under the blankets, my head beside his, my neck propped up by the arm that he had slung over me. I must have nudged him awake with my movement. "Misa?" he muttered thickly, groggily, in a very sleepy and therefore confused tone.
"Yeah, it's me," I whispered back, my lips grazing against his ear. "Go back to sleep."
Naruto's eyes flickered open, his gaze meeting mine with a sleepy smile. "You okay?" he asked, his voice rumbling low in his chest, warm comfort.
"I am now," I replied, my fingers tracing gentle patterns on his chest. "Thanks to you."
He tightened his hold on me, pulling me closer. "Good," he mumbled, his eyes already closing again. "Just stay close."
"I will," I promised, snuggling deeper into his warmth.
"I love you," Naruto mumbled, his eyes fluttering open as he turned his head to look at me. I let a small smile grace my lips, the warmth hitting my chest.
"I love you too, Naruto," I replied, leaning in to place a delicate kiss on his lips. A soft hum of contentment resounded from him with the touch.
"I have training today," Naruto said as I pulled away from his lips. "That new jutsu Kakashi-sensei was talking about. So I can't sleep in, as much as I want to with you."
"Sounds great," I replied, tracing a finger along his jawline. "I'm sure you'll be amazing. And don't worry, we can sleep together all you want once you're done with training."
Naruto snorted, his eyes flashing bright. "You make it sound easy."
"It is easy when it's with you," I said, bringing my lips up to his for another quick kiss. "Now go, or you'll be late."
He groaned in a playful fashion and reluctantly untangled himself from our embrace, getting ready to shower, eat, and brush his teeth, all that. "Fine, fine. But I'm holding you to that promise."
