PROLOGUE

"Baby, come on! It's close to 12." Jaemin excitedly called his lover in the room.

With a wide smile, Donghyuck left the veranda and followed Jaemin into his bed, playfully pouncing on top of him and blowing air into his neck.

Jaemin's loud laughs and attempts to push his boyfriend away fill the four-cornered space, while Donghyuck keeps on tickling the younger.

Calming himself to gather his strength more, Jaemin successfully rolled the other down the bed and turned the position. Now, Jaemin is on top, smiling and giggling while leaning his face closer to the latter.

Donghyuck only stayed still, staring at the excited youngster with a subtle smile on his lips. Jaemin smothered his face with kisses, then pecked on his lips multiple times until his energy drained and only buried his face on Donghyuck's neck.

 

"Are you sleepy?" Donghyuck asked with a soft hum, hugging and caressing his hair.

"No," Jaemin said, shaking his head. "What time is it?"

"Two minutes until 12, bunny."

Hearing the time, Jaemin hovers on top of him with his hands on the bed, supporting his weight. His energy seemed to get full again, as he's all giggly again.

Donghyuck can only chuckle and pinch the younger's nose, urging him to calm down.

"Lay down here, sweets." Donghyuck pulled Jaemin beside him, putting an arm below his head while the other arm pulled him closer.

"What do you want to wish for?" Jaemin asks. "Don't try to be cringeworthy and say that you don't need any more wishes because your wish already came true."

"And what was that wish?"

"Me"

Donghyuck laughed, hugging him tighter, and closed his eyes. "I wish we could tie the soulmate knot sooner."

"It'll be very, very soon! Our birthdays are just two months away."

"Still far"

"At least we're soulmates," Jaemin concludes and glances at the wall clock. "Oh my god, it's time!"

Both Donghyuck and Jaemin stayed lying on the bed, both right arms raised, to properly see what magic would unveil.

Their parents said that the person who will turn 21 will first see a red ring on their ring finger and then feel it tightening. When Donghyuck personally saw it, he flinched in surprise as his eyes never left the wonder.

"Is it happening?" Jaemin asks after seeing his boyfriend's reaction.

Though Donghyuck didn't answer when a red string started crawling from the ring until it reached Jaemin's direction, Donghyuck's eyes followed the string until it formed a knot on Jaemin's ring finger.

Now, Jaemin was able to see the string too.

Both of them stayed silent. Either of them almost forgot how to blink. They just stared at the string connecting them.

Their eyes met after a few moments of ogling at the wonders of fate, and then a laugh erupted from them.
