CHAPTER 6 - BROKEN

There's not much improvement on the second day of practice. Actually, the debaters bickered more than executed the plans properly. Just like that, Jaemin sent them on time-out, and the two had no choice but to compliment each other ten times.

Thinking about ten compliments is too much, for sure, so half of them are obviously fake or passive-aggressive. Jaemin gave up completely, telling them to cool down and continue the practice for the next week.

Gradually, a month passed, and with hardcore training (mostly with Jaemin's scolding), Donghyuck and Haeeun got closer.

They can now talk to each other without passing curses and empty blames, or if Haeeun spots them again in the bus stop and lets them ride with her without Donghyuck glaring, and Jaemin would be confident enough to leave them in the study room without begging them to stop fighting.

Sometimes, they would cross paths around the campus, and they would greet each other with a simple hi and hello or just a simple nod.

Practice runs for about two hours now, compared to only an hour before.

Even still, Donghyuck is warning Jaemin about being so lenient to her, and Haeeun's tongue is still venomous when annoyed.

At least there's progress, right?

"Let's take a break," Haeeun says with a sigh, massaging her temples after feeling a sharp pain.

"Are you okay? You look pale." Jaemin worries. "Does your head hurt?"

"A little, but it's fine."

"Drink water; hydrate yourself."

"Yeah." Haeeun drank from her tumbler, finishing until the last drop.

"Is this the first time you drink water for a whole day?" Donghyuck commented after seeing the girl gobble the liquid like the tastiest drink ever.

"I forget sometimes."

"That's bad, Haeeun!" Jaemin exclaims. "What if you get dehydrated? You'll get an IV drip!"

"Relax, Jaemin; I don't like to be sick, and I don't like hospitals."

"So, drink your water!"

"Stop scolding her; she's not a kid." Donghyuck calmed his boyfriend down.

Jaemin madly puckered his lips and looked at the girl in front of him more intently. "Do you need medicine?"

"I'm fine, thanks a lot." Haeeun waved it off.

"Do you have medicine stashed in your bag?"

"No,"

Jaemin immediately rummaged his bag and pulled out a small purse, then handed it to Haeeun.

"There are medicines, vitamins, bandages, and some ointments in there. Keep it."

Haeeun's brows furrowed. "Why are you giving it to me?"

"I have lots of medicine kits. I gave Hyuck one too. Make sure to bring it wherever you go. It's better to be ready for emergencies."
