Haeeun let out a big yawn when the teacher dismissed the class. It's 4 p.m., and it's her last subject for today, so it means she can go home earlier.

Having the red string blocking her vision doesn't affect her mood anymore than it did a week ago. She still vividly remembered the horror she experienced when she woke up with a string tied to her ring finger, symbolizing that her soulmate had already turned 21.

The frustrating feeling came more when she finally saw who it was—a blonde-haired male whose face she familiarized herself with around the campus and the known boyfriend of another known student.

Haeeun doesn't quite know his name—or maybe she does, but she keeps on forgetting it. She clearly knows his boyfriend, Lee Donghyuck, a member of the debate club and her mortal challenger when it comes to debates.

Her soulmate, who just turned 21, is named Na Jaemin. Haeeun will now never forget his name.

How can she, when the male is both her soulmate AND Donghyuck's? What kind of sorcery is that?

"Good morning," her cousin and classmate, Kim Minjeong, goofed beside her.

"It's literally afternoon," Haeeun side-eyed, then stood from her seat.

"I know, but you're continuously yawning."

"I'm tired."

"Is that a sign of soulmate deprivation?"

Haeeun glared, posing a warning to her cousin to drop the topic. Clearly, she could never keep it a secret from everyone. Well, her parents don't know, just her friends. It's a secret to anyone else.

Don't get her wrong; she doesn't have any beef with Jaemin, nor does she hate the soulmate thing. She doesn't have any problem with same-sex relationships either, but she can't just tell anyone that she found her soulmate.

Donghyuck and Jaemin have been a couple for years. They are expected to be soulmates, and they already are. The general population of the university is rooting for them both, and they are relatively known to everyone.

So how can she, Baek Haeeun, a junior psychology student who consecutively tops her class but also has beef with almost everyone, tag along with the couple because of a red string?

She is known as a witch for some reason. The campus will burn.

"Are you not communicating with him until now? It's been a week," Minjeong quipped, both walking beside each other and having a huge distance from other students.

"Is the answer not obvious?"

"Kind of, but Haeeun-ah, doesn't it hurt?"

"What hurt?"

"They said some soulmates get emotionally hurt when they are not on good terms with their partners."

"What does it have to do with me? He has his boyfriend. They're soulmates, too."

"But his string is not on the other. It's on you," Minjeong pointed out. "Maybe he's hurting."

"His boyfriend can do the trick."

Minjeong seethed, going in front to block her way and face her with a warning gaze. "Yerim-eonnie cried hard when she fought with Mark-oppa one time. I don't want to hear you cry like her."
