(Long narrations ahead. I hope you'll read it all though )

Haeeun thinks happiness is temporary. It's like candy that can always be stolen by another kid. Happiness costs too much, so it's better to gulp it down and remain stoic. Or maybe that's just how she's been raised.

Baby Haeeun was a little ball of sunshine. Her smile is so blinding that even the old people in the hospital regain hope to live whenever they see her. Her laughs are pure music. Baek Haeeun was indeed adorable, and her parents are lucky to have such a joyful child like her.

Four-year-old Haeeun is like any other kid. Her parents let her enter kindergarten and play with other kids. She's a gullible kid. She has many friends, and it wasn't hard for the other kids to invite her anywhere. Haeeun was thankful that her parents just let her have fun. Her babysitter is always with her too, and she's so nice.

Six-year-old Haeeun had a bunch of toys and beautiful dresses. She has her own imaginary fairytale world, like any other young girl. Her birthdays are always princess parties. She still has many friends even if she transfers schools to study in elementary.

Nine-year-old Haeeun was crowned the little muse in school. She was in fourth grade, and the teachers always complimented her pure and beautiful looks. They're not lying anyway. Haeeun is a pretty young lady, with such a baby face, fair white skin, and long black princess curls.

Haeeun's family status is such an ideal one. They are rich in both old and new money, and her ancestors own several buildings and businesses both locally and internationally. She's a pampered kid.

When Haeeun was in sixth grade and her mind slowly matured, she realized that she wasn't with her parents most of the time. Her mom is busy handling their family businesses, while her father is an esteemed member of the law. Her baby brother is just learning how to walk, and he's always been with his own babysitter.

While she opened her eyes to the word family, she learned many things, such as her parents' absence from school activities and some regular holidays.

"Where's your mom and dad?" Her cousin Minjeong always asks whenever they perform in a school activity.

"Nanny said they'll be here shortly." Haeeun will answer with a timid smile.

When it's their turn, Haeeun will smile like she's the brightest star. She's always the center, as she's the face of the dance troupe, and she loves it. She's sure that she'll make her parents smile too.

She's been in their troupe since the fourth grade, but neither her parents appeared in the audience.

In middle school, Haeeun had a short fight with her mom. The woman forced her to focus more on academics and not bother herself with dancing. Haeeun loved to dance. She loved to be on stage. Without a choice, she filled her middle school years kissing books and joining every academic-centered club.

Eighteen-year-old Haeeun is much more mature. She's in their senior year of high school and running for valedictorian. Because of her perfect A grades, it's no surprise that she'll get the highest academic award. Not just that, but her name is listed in all academic competitions where she ended up as the champion or the first placer.

Baek Haeeun was the proudest high school graduate. The audience's ears might be bleeding from hearing her name in every academic category, but Haeeun continued to walk back and forth to the stage to receive her award.
