Donghyuck got home after separating ways with Jaemin at his front door. They were fine, yet Donghyuck felt some kind of unexplainable feeling on the way home.

Jaemin was quiet on the bus, and it was no use initiating a conversation because the bus was full and he had to stand. The younger is smiling at him, but it looks half-hearted as it didn't reach his eyes like usual.

Donghyuck knew what was wrong. It was Baek Haeeun and the damn complicated soulmate string. Ever since they learned of their indescribable connection, Donghyuck heightened his guard twice as much, scared that his precious boyfriend would get hurt. He's not wrong, though. Jaemin's cries still haunted his mind.

He knows who to blame, but he can't get mad completely because it's not her fault in the first place. Still, can't she be more understandable and nice? They are soulmates. The three of them are soulmates.

God, how Donghyuck hates to address her as that. He used to say that her soulmate would be the most unlucky person ever. Guess it went back to him.

"Hyuck?" he heard Jaemin's voice behind his door, surprised that the younger came.

Donghyuck immediately opened his door, letting his boyfriend in. Jaemin sat on the bed with bags of chips in hand and a couple of notebooks.

"Are you going to study here?"

"Yeah, can I?"

Donghyuck chuckled. "Of course, why not? We've been doing this for years. Here, you didn't bring a pen, did you?" he said, handing him a pen that he usually stores for the younger to use whenever he'll do his studies with him.

"Thanks," Jaemin smiled and looked at his boyfriend with tired eyes. "Are you mad at me?"

"Me? For what?" By now, Donghyuck sat beside him and squeezed his hand. "You didn't do anything wrong, love."

"I didn't talk to you a lot today."

"It's not a problem to me, Jaem; you know that. We have days like that. You can get comfortable and quiet around me."

"But I was thinking of Haeeun," Jaemin said, pressing his lips into a thin line.

"So?"

"So, are you not mad?"

"I'll get mad if she hurts you, Jaemin, which she already does, by the way."

"Hyuck!" Jaemin squeezed his hand and pouted. "We kind of promised to let this slide until her birthday. Then we'll know to whom her string will knot."

"That'll be two months of enduring the urge not to slap her, Nana."

"Donghyuck!" the younger gasped. "You shouldn't do that."

"Yeah, I know," he said, rolling his eyes. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm here to recharge," Jaemin shrugged and opened his arms.

Donghyuck chuckled, pulling Jaemin into a hug. They adjusted their positions; now he is sitting against the headboard while the younger is on his lap, burying his face on his shoulder.
