The weekend arrived with a gentle sun streaming through the curtains of their apartment, filling the space with warm, golden light. He stirred awake, blinking at the clock on the bedside table. It was early, but the anticipation of a fun-filled day pulled him from the comfort of his sheets. Today was the day they had planned for a much-needed break from their grueling Job training—a day just for the three of them.

Rubbing the sleep from his eyes, Donghyuck swung his legs over the side of the bed and took a moment to relish the stillness of the apartment. It felt as if the world outside had paused, allowing him a rare moment of peace before the day unfolded. With a deep breath, he stood up and shuffled to the kitchen.

As he prepared breakfast, the aroma of sizzling eggs and toasted bread filled the small apartment. He made enough for three, knowing that both Jaemin and Haeeun would soon be up. Cooking was one of Donghyuck's favorite ways to show his affection, a gesture that reminded them all that they were a team, even when life got overwhelming.

Just as he was plating the food, a soft voice floated in from the living room. "Is that breakfast I smell?" Jaemin's cheerful tone was unmistakable.

"Come and get it!" Donghyuck called, a smile spreading across his face.

Jaemin appeared a moment later, his hair tousled and a bright smile lighting up his features. "I can always count on you to whip up a feast," he said, taking a seat at the small dining table. "What's on the menu?"

"Just your standard eggs and toast," Donghyuck replied, placing the plate in front of him. "But I may have gone a little overboard with the toast."

"Never too much toast!" Jaemin said, digging in eagerly. "It's perfect. I don't know how you do it."

Moments later, Haeeun wandered in, rubbing her eyes. "Good morning, sleepyheads," she greeted, her voice still thick with sleep. "What did I miss?"

"Only the best breakfast in town," Donghyuck said proudly. "Join us!"

As she settled into her seat, Haeeun's eyes widened at the spread. "Wow, you really outdid yourself, Hyuckie. I can't believe you made all this!"

"I aim to please," he said, mockingly bowing.

They quickly finished their meal, the conversation flowing easily as they caught up on their plans for the day. After weeks of being pulled in different directions by their training, this weekend felt like a lifeline, a chance to reconnect and recharge.

"Okay, so what's on the agenda?" Haeeun asked, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

"I thought we'd start with brunch at that new café, then head back here for our movie marathon," Donghyuck suggested. "And of course, there will be snacks involved."

"Perfect!" Jaemin agreed. "And I have some movies lined up—an adventure film, a rom-com, and a horror movie to round it all out."

"You know I'm not a fan of horror," Haeeun said, laughing as she rolled her eyes.

"Exactly! That's why I picked it!" Jaemin shot back, grinning. "It's tradition."

After a brief discussion, they decided on a time to head out. With their plans in place, they cleaned up the dishes together, laughing and joking as they worked side by side. The mundane task felt lighthearted in their company, the rhythm of their movements syncing effortlessly.
