Wednesday rolled rather quickly. Haeeun was dressed in a formal suit as she rode with Yerim and Minjeong in Mark's car. It was the male's offer anyway, and it is something that he used to do in every competition. Like Haeeun, Mark is also dressed formally in a long-sleeved polo, cleanly tucked in grey slacks with a black belt adorning it.
Today is the debate competition, and it is one of the most anticipated program categories every literary week.
"Are you okay? Are you nervous?" Mark asked when they got off the car.
Haeeun just timidly smiled and shook her head. "Not that I know of."
"What do you mean?"
She only shrugged and flashed a small smile. "Good luck to us."
"Okay," Mark chuckled, tapping her shoulder. "Good luck to us."
"Everything's fine, right?" Yerim came in front of her and patted her head. "Haeeun, you're doing well. Don't push yourself too hard today, too."
Haeeun nodded in assurance. "No worries, Rim. This is just another usual debate."
"Did you sleep well, at least?"
"I slept enough." Haeeun flashed a wider smile. "I'll see you in the hall."
"Do you want me to come?" Minjeong asked. "I figured you wanted some company."
"You can if you want. I'll be with Donghyuck and Jaemin, though."
"Oh, then I'll step out." Minjeong chuckles. "I'll be everywhere."
"You sure?"
Minjeong nodded. "You should go to them now. I'll see you backstage."
Haeeun shared a small hug with the three before walking away to meet with her soulmates. She let out a heavy sigh, which she held back there, and her lips shut in a small frown.
Yesterday was a blast too. Haeeun quickly forgot what happened between her and her mom last Monday, and being with them is a great distraction. It wasn't even hard for Donghyuck and Jaemin to get her full attention. A minute with them is enough for her to surrender to their presence and guide her day to be better.
Donghyuck and Haeeun spent the whole afternoon practicing too. It only hit them that the competition would be tomorrow because of their slight nervousness during their practice. Well, even though both of them are confident and flawless in the contest, they still feel nervous like normal humans. Still, they didn't let their nerves disturb them, and they even had a moment to joke around during breaks.
Haeeun saw the two standing near the cotton candy stand. Donghyuck is wearing a maroon polo shirt, tucked in black slacks. His navy blue coat is hanging on his arm, and he already has cotton candy on his other hand. She can't help but chuckle at how they look. Jaemin's hands are full of foods, and he's having a hard time eating.
"You should've sat somewhere," Haeeun said the moment she got to them.
"I already said that, but Nana refused to."
"For you." Jaemin handed her a cup of tteokbokki with a wide smile.
"Are you giving this to me to eat or to hold for you?"
