JIMIN POV
'I'm not a Christmas light connoisseur, but I'm pretty sure you're supposed to untangle them, not create more knots.' Namjoon's groggy, morning voice sounded like a ship horn this early in the morning.
The sun just cracked through the sky, giving signs that the morning was here, and here I was. Sitting on the ground with a bunch of Christmas lights.
'Rain loves untangling then. It helps her think and calms her down.'
'You're creating knots for her to untangle?'
'Yes.'
These weird little habits of hers are something I try to make note of. I'll create a hundred knots for her, and I'll happily sit aside and watch her smile to herself with each one she untangles.
'Just when I think she couldn't be any weirder.' He chuckles sleepily
I kept creating knots in silence, which he killed pretty soon.
'Are you sleeping at all? I don't think I've seen you asleep yet.'
'I'm good.' I mumble a lying response, not really wanting to explain
I don't need much sleep, but I barely get any even for my standards. My mind is wired to listen to any sound, so I hear every scream she lets out, and when I do, I run to her. And if I don't, Hella licks my face and wakes me up. Because, why not?
I don't even want to look behind me at the sofa where I've been sleeping on for 10 days now. Or thinking about sleep while lying on it, wondering how much longer I'll be here. On the sofa. And not with her.
He went back to scrolling on his phone while I was finishing the tangles. I am not sure how long it had been, but Hella woke up and had to be taken out and fed, so I got that done and picked up some flowers and a Christmas present for her on my way home. It's not really a crazy present, but she needs it.
I've managed to keep my promise so far. I've gotten her flowers every day since she's been here. Downside, house is full of them. There are flowers everywhere. I'll turn this into a garden if I continue like this.
Upside, it makes her smile. That's all I want and all that matters. It was about 8 when Hella nearly ran me over to go say good morning to Rain. She just slumped down the stairs, looking as tired as ever. She is not sleeping well either, for obvious reasons. She also hasn't given an answer to my question. Maybe she didn't even think about it. Maybe she did. I don't know and I won't ask her about it.
That aside, Hella is obsessed with her. I don't know if it's because she's the only woman in the house, or maybe she can feel that she needs more protection, but whatever it is, my dog is taking my wife.
'Hey, cutie.' Rain greeted her back, giving her scratches all over as she wagged her tail, running around her in circles
'Morning, beautiful.'
She looked at me and smiled. 'Morning.'
She was walking over when her eyes scanned me and what I'm doing, and then she saw the tree.
'What? Is it Christmas??' She looked so panicked for not knowing the date, but I think Christmas was the last of anyone's needs considering everything. Plus, she was shoved into an underground hole for 4 months. She has no idea what date it is. I barely do, and I've been here the entire time.
'A day after tomorrow.' I smile and lift the fairy lights from the floor, offering them to her
The smile I adore so much shone bright on her face, erasing the traces of being tired in no time as she sat next to me. I put the lights in her lap and gave her a few forehead kisses, nearly bursting with happiness because I can kiss a part of her.
