JIMIN POV
'What... in the- What the hell are you doing? Do you know what time it is?'
I stopped in my tracks at the sounds of quiet scolding from none other than Namjoon, who, as per usual, was a night owl, reading under the little light in the corner of the couch.
The tree I dragged inside was blocking half my view, so I moved it a bit to look out the window and saw nothing but pure darkness.
'Not day.' I finally answered him, and he closed his book with a loud sound of what sounded like million pages clashing together.
'Happy to see that your sass is in full glory at...' he looked down at his wrist, '4:18 AM. But why in the fuck are you bringing a tree into my living room and fucking up my floors?'
'You're the genius one. You tell me.' I smile sarcastically, and move on with my task of dragging the tree to where I want it
'Wait- is it- ahhhh.' The realization hit him, and he facepalmed lightly, murmuring under his breath, 'Christmas.'
'Ding ding ding.' I sing out monotonly, setting the tree down in the corner by the window
'Since when do you put up Christmas trees? I still remember you ''accidentally'' cutting one down because your katana ''slipped''.'
'First, that one was atrocious. I told you not to let Jin near the decorations. I've done us all a favour.'
He made a little hmm sound with an nod that says I can't argue that.
'Secondly, I still don't care about the tree, but I love someone who does. And she needs something to pick her up. She's been through hell. If a tree with some lights and bobbles can do that, then I'll bring in an entire forest here. Deal with it or move out.'
He raised his hands as if in defense, laughing quietly at my outburst. 'I wasn't gonna say a thing. If not you, Jungkook and that gremlin Gyumin would probably bring one anyway, and then Jin would take over and make another shitshow. We would wind up with it either way.'
I've been here 7 years now, and each year, there had been something god fucking awful in this room during holidays. Jin loves decorating shit, but it always looks like santa threw up around the house. Then Hoseok tries to up-scale him, and makes it like we're in the santa village. 5 years ago a fucking raindeer fell off the wall where Namjoon put him and broke 2 windows. 4 years ago, Yoongi set a tree on fire by accident, and then gave up smoking because of it. 3 years ago, just before Rain came here, that Christmas Jungkook bet Hoseok that he could throw the tree with one hand. He couldn't. He broke the TV, a window, tripped and fell over the lights that he didn't even unplug, and nearly broke Taehyung's leg because the tree fell on him. As you can see, more damage than anything good with them around.
'How come you didn't wait for her to get up? I mean, pick the tree together and all that?'
'Because she fell asleep less than 2 hours ago. She had one of those nightmares and barely managed to fall asleep.'
It's been a week since I've had her back, and it's not getting any better with her dreams. Sometimes they last shorter, sometimes longer, but no matter how long they are, she can't rid herself of them. The only thing that changed is that the line moved a little further. Or became thinner. Whatever it is, she lets me hug her. I can even kiss her forehead. Most of the time. I still gotta be careful and pick when and where, but she is not flinching at it anymore.
But I still can't sleep next to her. I walked in yesterday without knowing she was in the shower prior to it, and ran into her wrapped up in nothing but a towel. She pretty much woke up every dead person in a 5 mile radius with the screech, and I almost died. Didn't even run from Hella that fast.
