Mara's POV

I haven't seen Draco since the hospital visit. I held so much guilt to face him again, and knowing he is getting married today I knew I shouldn't. He moved on and every right so. Since Luna and Blaise were invited to the wedding I tried my best to stay away from them. I spent most of my morning at a cafe in Diagon Alley, it was hard to distract myself from the fact that the love of my life was marrying someone else, no book could take that thought away.

"There you are Mara, I have been looking everywhere for you." Said Ginny as she stormed into the cafe.

"I'm just staying away from everyone."

"Erm no you're not. You are coming with me."

"Where would you be taking me Ginny." I replied.

"Well for a start a shop where you can get a nice dress, you are not crashing a wedding looking like that."

"I am not crashing anyone's wedding."

"Mara are you seriously going to let Draco marry a woman he has no love for and make him regret everything he has done for you."

"How do you know he does not love her?" I asked.

"Mara while both of them have been seeing one another, he has been killing death eaters for you. Plus he told Blaise that he is only marrying her to keep his mother happy."

"Why has no one told me this?"

"I mean we all tried, but you haven't exactly been listening to us."

"I can't let him marry her."

Draco's POV

Getting ready for this wedding made me want Mara to come over and just stop me from doing this. I have not seen her since she visited me at St Mungos. I have not slept since seeing her. Why has she not come back for me? I guess the love that was once there was gone.

"Draco darling are you almost ready?" Mother asked.

"I'm coming mother."

I was not ready to walk out of my room let alone go over to the chapel to get married. I can't bare being stuck in a loveless marriage just to make my mother happy. Astoria is a great woman, again too good for me, but she is not my Mara.

As I passed the kitchen I could see all the food being prepared by our house elves, flowers everywhere. The smell gave me a headache.

"Are you ready?" My mother asked.

"I guess so."

"You can't hope forever darling, you must move on. If she wanted you, she would've fought for you by now."

"I know mother." I sighed.

I hoped that I could've proved her wrong, that Mara would be outside waiting for me to walk out, but as I opened the door no one was there. I felt my heart sink because of the hope I had, for the urge to want her telling me "Don't do this Draco".

Mara's POV

Ginny and I were rushing around before we made it to the chapel. Many people were surprised to see me here and I saw Rita Skeeter's face light up as she saw me walk in. Which I guarantee that my name will make it on the daily prophet again. Many thanked me for supporting Draco and others questioned why I would watch the guy I love marry someone else. I guess no one had the thought of me objecting and stopping him from getting married.

Me and Ginny sat somewhere where I could not be seen.

The doors opened and I saw him walk to the altar, his mother by his side. He could not even fake a smile and it made me realise that Ginny was right. We all stood up as the music began playing, the doors opening again. Astoria being escorted by her father down the aisle. More guilt rushed over me as I saw her innocent smile.

"Ginny I don't think I can do this." I whispered.

"Mara-"

"Look how happy she is, something like this could really hurt her."

"Just trust me Mara."

As their hands joined, my heart sank. I noticed how he gave her a fake smile, to give her some kind of reassurance. My mind was sort of dazed as they said their vows. I began to feel so sick in my stomach as I knew the question that was coming next.

Draco's POV

"If any person here present knows of any lawful impediment to this marriage, they should declare it now or forever hold your peace."

It was silent for a second, until I heard some noise from a far. She was here, wearing a gorgeous pink toned silk dress, it hugged her figure so well. I thought I searched the whole room in hopes of finding her here.

"I object."

The room echoes in gasps as Mara objects.

"I should've come to you sooner Draco and I know this is probably the worst time to declare my love to you again, but the thought of losing you to someone else hurts. I just needed someone to make me realise that. I understand that it may be too late or that you may not love me at all, but I just had to tell you."

It sounded like poetry, it's all I wanted to hear. I've waited days for this, I spent every minute imagining what she would do or how she would do it. I know that maybe it should've been me coming to her, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.

I look into Astoria's eyes. Muttering "I'm sorry".

"Ginny told me this would happen Draco, I was prepared for this and besides I cannot marry someone and trap them in a loveless marriage. Especially when the girl is right there waiting for you. You deserve the life the both of you planned. Go to her Draco."

I was shocked that she knew something was going to happen. Would she not marry me even if Mara did not object?

I saw Mara walking out of the chapel. I did not wait any longer and I ran after her.

"Why didn't you come sooner?" I asked.

"I didn't know if you still wanted me."

"You are so stupid for thinking that."

I grabbed her by her waist before embracing her, holding her tightly. As I let go of her, I caressed her cheek softly, our lips met and I felt that passion and love once again. Wherever she goes I go, I am not losing her again. It'll be us, forever and always.
