The soft light of morning filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow over the room as I slowly woke up. Alessia was still asleep beside me, her face serene and peaceful. I watched her for a moment, savouring the quiet intimacy of the moment. Her presence filled me with a sense of contentment I had never known before.

"Good morning, beautiful," I whispered, brushing a stray lock of hair from her face.

Alessia's eyes fluttered open, and she smiled sleepily at me. "Good morning, love. Did you sleep well?"

"Better than ever," I replied, leaning in to kiss her forehead. "What do you have planned for today?"

Alessia stretched, looking thoughtful. "Training this morning, but after that, I was thinking we could do something special together. Maybe dinner?"

"I'd love that. It's a date," I said, my heart swelling with affection for her.

We lingered in bed for a while longer, talking about our plans and sharing dreams for the future. Eventually, we had to get up and prepare for the day ahead. Hand in hand, we headed to the training ground, our steps light with the happiness we felt.

The atmosphere at the Arsenal training ground was lively and energetic, as always. Our teammates were in high spirits, but it didn't take long for them to notice the change in us.

"Look at you two, glowing! What's the secret?" Katie teased as we arrived.

I exchanged a glance with Alessia, and we both smiled. "Well, I asked Alessia to be my girlfriend last night," I announced, unable to contain my excitement.

"Finally! We were wondering when you'd make it official," Beth chimed in, grinning.

Alessia blushed, squeezing my hand. "We wanted to take our time, but now it feels right."

"So, when's the first big date?" Manuela asked.

"That's what I need your help with," I said. "I want to plan something really special."

Our teammates huddled around us, offering suggestions and ideas. "How about a picnic in Verulamium Park? It's beautiful this time of year," Vivianne suggested.

"And a boat ride on the lake. Super romantic!" Caitlin added.

I nodded, grateful for their enthusiasm. "Those are great ideas. Thanks, everyone."

Later, during a break, I gathered a few of my closest friends to finalise the plan. We sat on the grass, discussing the details.

"Okay, so a picnic and a boat ride. What else can I do to make it perfect?" I asked.

"Bring some of her favourite foods and a playlist of songs that mean something to both of you," Katie suggested.

"And don't forget a cosy blanket and some fairy lights for when it gets dark," Teyah added.

"This is going to be amazing. Thanks for all your help," I said, feeling a surge of excitement for the evening ahead.

Meanwhile, Alessia was talking to one of her close friends, her excitement evident.

Alessia's POV:

"You look so happy, Alessia. What's up?" Ella asked.

"Sapphire asked me to be her girlfriend last night. I'm over the moon," Alessia replied, her eyes shining.

"That's fantastic! So, what's next?"

"We're having dinner tonight. She's been so wonderful; I just hope I can be everything she needs," Alessia said, a hint of nervousness in her voice.

"Trust me, you already are," Ella reassured her.

Sapphire's POV:

As the sun began to set, I picked up Alessia from her apartment. She looked stunning, her smile lighting up my world.

"You look stunning, Alessia," I said, unable to take my eyes off her.

"And you look incredibly handsome, Sapphire. Where are we going?" she asked, her eyes twinkling with curiosity.

"It's a surprise, but I promise you'll love it," I replied, taking her hand.

We drove to Verulamium Park, where I had set up a picnic by the lake. A cosy blanket was spread out, adorned with fairy lights and a basket of her favourite foods. Soft music played in the background, creating a romantic atmosphere.

Alessia's eyes widened with delight as she took in the scene. "This is beautiful, Sapphire. Thank you for planning all this."

"You deserve the world, Alessia. I want to show you how much you mean to me," I said, feeling a swell of love for her.

We sat down on the blanket, enjoying the food and each other's company. As we talked and laughed, I felt our connection deepening, the bond between us growing stronger with each passing moment.

After the picnic, we took a boat ride on the lake. The water shimmered under the moonlight, creating a magical setting. We held hands, sharing our dreams and aspirations.

"This is just perfect," Alessia said softly, leaning her head on my shoulder.

"I feel so lucky to have you in my life," I replied, kissing the top of her head.

As the evening drew to a close, we lay on the blanket, gazing up at the stars. The world felt vast and full of possibilities, and I knew that as long as we were together, we could face anything that came our way.

"I want us to always be honest with each other, to support and love each other no matter what," I said, my voice filled with emotion.

Alessia turned to look at me, her eyes shining with tears. "I promise, Sapphire. I'll always be here for you, through everything."

"And I'll always be here for you, Alessia. This is just the beginning of our adventure," I said, feeling a sense of completeness wash over me.

We shared a tender kiss, sealing our promises to each other. In that moment, under the starlit sky, I knew that we were embarking on a journey that would be filled with love, laughter, and endless possibilities. Together, we were unstoppable, and I couldn't wait to see what the future held for us.
