“Everyone’s here?” Hugan-sensei confirmed that everyone has been seated, and then he started the homeroom session. “I’m Cyrus May Hugan. Unless you guys totally cannot follow the lessons or caused trouble, I will look after you for these 3 years. I will turn a blind eye if it isn’t anything serious, but make sure not to do stupid things and increase my job. Yoroshiku.”

–Hey, are you sure that’s okay, teacher of Centrior?

Perhaps he believed in the hands-off policy because this world only valued real ability no matter what. This type of person won’t get angry as long as you do what you needed to do so it was easy to deal with. It seems I can get along well with Hugan-sensei, thought Razé.

“Ok, we will start with the usual self-introduction. Introduce your name and your skill specialty if you know it. Other than that, you can say whatever you want to speak of. We’ll start from that row, one by one.”

The self-introduction session started from the opposite side of the room from where Razé sat. If the name didn’t include an aristocratic title, everyone would know that the person was a commoner. Razé was listening hard to look out for a fellow comrade, but unfortunately, a commoner was not so common here.

“Carna Foote Mortens. My specialty is ice magic.”

“Claude Orr Lesir. My specialty is shadow manipulation magic.”

“I’m Ian Masse Durhua. I’m good at physical strengthening [1].”

“Luca Fein Streinge. My specialty is earth magic.”

That was the daughter of the Foreign Minister, the son of the Head Steward of the Imperial Palace, the grandson of Shian Empire’s former Knight Captain and the son of the Minister of Finance. These people alone were already enough. On top of these high-ranking people, there were even the Prime Minister’s son and Prince Ruben, all in the same class. Razé was at her wits’ end. When she thought of them, she felt so inferior…

Everyone announced their skill specialty like it was nothing special. Actually, identifying specialty required money and you would need to get an examination done at a proper institution. This was because if you made a mistake at identifying your skill specialty, you would not be able to exert your actual power, and some people might fall into a slump or met with a life-threatening situation. These aristocratic children must have been blessed with good guides. It was totally different for Razé. During the wartime, she was forced to get the aptitude examination using a special machine. She remembered it hurt a lot back then.

While Razé was reminiscing her past, Folia stood up. “Fo- Folia Cresias. My skill specialty is healing magic. I’m not good at other type of magic but I will do my best.” She bowed down her head while the classroom clattered with noise. The commotion was because she was a commoner. On top of that, her classmates were shocked because her specialty was healing magic.

It was very rare for someone to have healing magic as their skill specialty. Basically, anyone who practice magic should be able to use any type of magic to some extent. But non-specialty healing magic had very limited effect. It was either specialty or regular. For magic, the limit you could achieved depend on this classification.

For regular healing magic, the most you could do was to close a wound. For specialty healing magic, you could even reconstruct body parts that was destroyed. The difference of competency between the classification for healing magic was too huge, so it was considered as precious.

It turns out that Folia can use healing magic. Even Razé was surprised.

“Alright. Be quiet. Let’s move on to the next one. Next!” Hugan-sensei clapped his hand and the classroom quieted down.
