Nathan's expression reflects a mix of astonishment and perplexity. "How did I make such a leap from the fifth level to here? We still had a good 15 minutes remaining. We were on the verge of heading towards the Crape Myrtle location, and then suddenly, it's like I've been transported here," he recounts, his words echoing with confusion and a hint of frustration. His eyes scan the surroundings, as if seeking clarity from the environment itself, yet finding none. The sudden shift in our circumstances has left us both questioning the very fabric of our reality, grappling with the inexplicable turn of events.
"What? You still had 15 minutes? How? And how did you know it was Crape Myrtle?" I ask, my voice filled with shock and disbelief.
"It was just basic observation, being the 'eyes' "Nathan replies nonchalantly
"But even I was eyes..."I protest, feeling a growing sense of unease
"Are we all playing normally, or have some people jumped levels?" Nathan asks, his brow furrowed with confusion.
"No, all of this is certainly an illusion. Even you had to be part of the illusion, but I don't understand how you became aware within my illusion. Perhaps you're exceptionally clever, and they allowed you to skip levels?" I respond, my mind swirling with uncertainty and doubt.
"What's this game?" Nathan's curiosity prompts the question.
"Oh, it's a treasure hunt," I reply, explaining the concept to him in simple terms.
Switching gears, I turn to Nathan with another question. "So, what do you think about being in my illusion?" I ask, curious about his perspective.
Nathan's response is straightforward. "Let's just focus on completing the level," he suggests, steering our attention back to the task at hand.
"Yeah of course , I get it now " Nathan responds with determination. "Step aside. I'll search in the injections. We can't afford to waste any more time because of your carelessness."
"Found it!" shouts another guy excitedly.
As we open the syringe, we discover clue 4 tucked inside.
I can't shake off the feeling of unfairness about how Nathan managed to skip a level. Anyway, let's focus on finishing this game.
Now comes the final clue.
Clue 4:"In the heart of light, my secret lies,
Within the glow, the treasure flies.
Unlock the beams that pierce the dark,
To claim your prize, leave your mark."
"Now, this doesn't help me," I sigh, feeling the weight of the cryptic clue.
"'In the heart of light, my secret lies...' Could this refer to the spotlight itself, the central source of illumination that bathes the stage in its glow?" Nathan ponders aloud, his words sparking a glimmer of understanding amidst the confusion.
It's seriously irritating how this guy always seems to have an answer for everything. It's starting to get on my nerves,
"The spotlight is in the Auditorium!" shouts the braided hair girl, her voice echoing with urgency.
With only 7 minutes left, we sprint towards the auditorium.
"But where is the auditorium? Let's split up and search," suggests the chubby guy.
"'Within the glow, the treasure flies...' The treasure may be hidden within the beam of light, invisible to the naked eye until unlocked," adds Nathan, his words offering a glimmer of insight amidst the chaos.
"'Unlock the beams that pierce the dark...' Perhaps there are mechanisms within the spotlight itself that must be manipulated in order to reveal the treasure hidden within," I add, my voice joining the brainstorming session as we collectively try to decipher the cryptic clue.
Armed with these thoughts, We approach the spotlight, examining it closely for any signs of hidden compartments or mechanisms. As we investigate, we notice a series of levers and switches concealed within the spotlight's housing, each one adorned with symbols that correspond to the riddle's clues. With a sense of determination, we begin to manipulate the levers and switches, carefully aligning them according to the symbols and patterns they've deciphered. As they do, the spotlight flickers momentarily before casting a brilliant beam of light directly onto the chest, causing its lock to click open with a satisfying sound.
As we open the envelope, we find the word "pass" written inside.
"Yes, we did it!" shouts the chubby guy, his excitement palpable.
We exchange high fives and do a celebratory cheer, but I can't help but notice Nathan's lack of enthusiasm.
It's frustrating how he always seems disinterested in everything.
"Congratulations," says the automated voice, prompting Nathan and me to exchange a puzzled glance, as we were the only ones who heard it.
