"Turns out I'm your girlfriend's key," he says, waving my card like it's some kind of prize.

He pulls my card out and reads it aloud, making a show of it. "Look at that! What a lucky guy, you have your boyfriend's card," he teases, glancing over at Nathan.

"Give my card back, you dumbass !" I jump, trying to snatch it from him, but he dodges, holding it just out of reach.

"Don't play with me, give it to me!" I shout, my frustration growing.

Keith grins wider, taunting, "Try, if you can."

Suddenly, a punch flies through the air and lands squarely on Keith's face, sending him crashing to the ground with a thud. Before I can react, Nathan grabs my hand and pulls me away.

"You ass!" Keith yells as he springs up, delivering a punch to Nathan's back, knocking him down. In an instant, Keith jumps on top of Nathan, and the two of them are tangled in a chaotic mess of fists.

"You murderer! After killing someone, you think you can just stroll around and date girls?" Keith shouts, throwing another punch.

The words hang in the air like a bomb, my heart pounding as I try to process what he just said. Nathan's face tightens with rage, but there's something else there—something that looks like guilt.

"Why? Are you jealous because no one loves you anymore?" Nathan snaps back, landing another punch on Keith's face.

"Oh my god, are they really fighting over that girl?" one of the girls exclaims, her eyes widening with fascination as all the girls turn to look at me, their gazes filled with a mix of curiosity and excitement.

"No, no... no!" I stammer, feeling the heat rise to my cheeks. This is beyond embarrassing.

"Stop! Stop!" I shout as loudly as I can, trying to cut through the chaos.

"I know you both have family issues, but this isn't the way to handle it," I continue, my voice trembling slightly. "You're good kids, so stop fighting already!"

Despite my efforts, the brawl continues, and I'm left standing there, caught between a tumultuous mess and the gaze of everyone watching.

What? Are we elementary kids ?" Keith scoffs, raising an eyebrow.

"Well, don't act like one, then! Firstly, Keith, tell them to leave, please," I whisper urgently, trying not to lose my patience.

"I don't do anything for free!" he retorts with a smirk.

"Fine, I'll do you a favor. Just tell them to go," I say, forcing a strained smile. "Consider it my contribution to world peace."

"Remember this," Keith warns, his eyes glinting mischievously.

He turns to the girls and says, "Ladies, could you please make yourselves scarce? We're in the middle of something very important here. And just so you know, I'll totally date the girl who leaves first!"

In a comical rush, all the girls scatter, as if someone had just announced free chocolate. The scene clears out faster than you can say "awkward."

"Now, boys, shake hands and apologize to each other," I insist, trying to sound firm but not too bossy.

"No," Nathan and Keith both reply in unison, turning their faces away dramatically.

"Fine, just don't fight in front of me again, okay?" I beg, rubbing my hands together as if trying to soothe a pair of unruly children.

"While you guys were brawling, I had to endure a mini-trauma session, so please, no more fights, at least not around me," I add, attempting to sound as earnest as possible.

"I'm your key, so it looks like I'm stuck with you. I hope you don't mind, Mr. Boyfriend. Well, I don't care even if you do," Keith smirks, clearly enjoying the drama.

"Nathan, what does your card say?" I begin to ask, but before I can finish, Nathan snatches his card away from me.

"I just wanted to—" I start, but Nathan cuts me off with a quick, "Let me handle it."

"Keith!" I call out, the word I read in the card..

"Wow, so you seriously stick to the words of a murderer, you wanted to kill me so bad that you refuse to tell anyone that you are my key?" Keith says with a smirk, clearly enjoying the chaos.

This is turning into a loop of disaster. Nathan has Keith's name, and it seems like Nathan never intended to save Keith, which is why he snatched the card away from me.

What if they fight? I can't abandon Nathan, nor can I leave Keith. If either of them dies, all three of us are at risk. Why does it have to be them? The two campus crushes in one mess—this can't be happening!

Desperately, I run between them and stand, trying to be a human barricade.
