Keith narrows his eyes. "No, you didn't fall because I was weak! I did it on purpose! I told you to get your legs off my head, and you didn't, so I let go!"

"Nice cover-up," I mutter, rolling my eyes.

"Use me," Nathan says suddenly.

"Huh?" Keith and I blurt out in unison, staring at Nathan like he's just spoken in another language.

"I mean, stand on me," Nathan clarifies, dropping to one knee.

"Are you sure?" I ask, hesitating.

"If I wasn't, I wouldn't have asked," he replies, looking up at me with a determined expression.

"Fine," I say, and carefully place my weight onto his shoulders. He grips my legs firmly, and I can feel the strength in his hold. Slowly, he begins to stand, his muscles flexing with the effort. Knowing what he's capable of, I've seen his strength firsthand, and I trust he won't let me fall.

I reach up and grasp the edge of the pit. With a grunt, I start pulling myself up while Nathan pushes my legs, giving me that final boost I need. "Almost there..." I murmur, feeling the ground slip under my fingers as I pull myself over the top.

"Now, Nathan, you stand on Keith and come up," I suggest.

"What do you mean 'stand'? I'm not helping this man!" Keith snaps, folding his arms defiantly. "What!, you two plan to leave me alone down here? First, let me go out, then Nathan can."

Nathan lets out an exasperated sigh. "Don't be a child, Keith, especially now."

Keith's eyes widen in mock offense. "Oh, so now I'm the child? I'm not the one volunteering to play ladder boy here!"

"Keith, come on, we don't have time for this!" I groan. "Do you seriously think we want to leave you here?"

"Why are you being one too?" Keith snaps back. "Just do the honors of helping first. Because, ever since a friend betrayed me, I've had trust issues with all humans. You, of all people, should know that best."

"Keith, please, I—" I try to explain, but Nathan cuts me off.

"Fine," Nathan says, exasperated. "Stand on me."

Keith smirks like he's just won some grand argument. "Glad to see you've finally come to your senses, Nathan."

Nathan rolls his eyes and kneels down, offering his back.

Keith climbs onto Nathan's back with a dramatic flair, pausing just to give him a playful shove. "See? Was that so hard?"

Nathan lets out a deep sigh. "Just hurry up before I change my mind."

Keith positions himself carefully, muttering, "I swear, if I fall and break something, I'm coming back as a ghost to haunt you both."

Keith plants his hands on Nathan's shoulders, trying to hoist himself up.

"Don't shove me, you idiot!" Nathan snaps.

The scene in front of me turns into absolute chaos, and with a sudden jerk, Keith loses his balance and face-plants into the dirt with a loud thud.

"Oh my god! Are you okay?" I rush over to him, patting his back.

Keith lifts his head, his face red with anger. "You jerk, you showed your true colors! Why'd you push me so hard? What if I died?"

Nathan rolls his eyes. "Trust me, if I wanted to get rid of you, I'd have picked a quieter way."

Keith scowls, fixing his hair with a huff. "You wish, Nathan. This face is too pretty to die that easily."

I can't help but giggle. "Keith, you're so dramatic. You're fine!"

Keith brushes off the dirt and looks at us both. "You guys would miss me. Admit it."

If you put Keith's hair flip in slow motion, it's like one of those cheesy movie scenes that all the girls swoon over.

"I wonder where you get your brain from," Nathan mutters, rolling his eyes.

"You don't understand how important a perfect face and body are for an actor! What if my face got scratched?" Keith snaps back, still dusting sand off his pants.

"Wait... you're an actor?" I ask, genuinely surprised.

Keith straightens up, looking offended. "Why? Don't I look like one?"

I pause, trying to hold back a smile. "Well... you do, actually. Your terrible personality would fit right in."

Keith narrows his eyes at me, faking offense. "What are you trying to say, huh?"

"Oh, so that's why all the girls are obsessed with you. Anyway, which movies have you been in?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.

Keith looks genuinely shocked. "You don't know me?"

"Nope," I reply flatly.

Nathan snorts, barely containing his laughter.
