"Hey baby?"

From the other room, Kai shouted "YEAH?!"

"Do we really have to go to this thing?!"

"I DO! YOU DON'T!"

Soobin groaned while curling into an angry ball on Kai's bed. He then quickly uncurled after his suit got wrinkled. "This isn't exactly how I pictured spending our one week celebration together!"

Kai cutely smiled when he came out of the bathroom. Watching his boyfriend attempt to get the creases out of his jacket made his smile draw wider. "And how did you picture it?"

"With much less clothes to start."

"Soobin."

"I'm joking! Kind of! Not really! I'm so nervous."

"Baby my dad isn't that scary!" Kai repressed his laughter when he saw the adorable pout on Soobin's face. "You really don't need to go to the opening. I barely want to."

"No... it's okay. I'll go."

"We gotta go now then!"

Soobin jumped off of the mattress when he realized what time it was. Being late to the club opening was worse than meeting Kai's father because it would send the impression that he wasn't responsible. Not being responsible made him fear his dad would think he wasn't good enough to date Kai. He barely thought he was. With all those thoughts swimming in his mind, he hurried his boyfriend out the door.

Kai did not appreciate practically being shoved out of his own condo. "Calm down! Quit pushing me!"

"Hurry up!"

"Soobin!" Kai gripped his boyfriend's shoulders and pressed down hard. "It's going to be okay. You need to trust me."

"But what if he doesn't like me?"

"I won't care. I like you. My dad's opinion isn't going to change my mind. I promise."

Soobin took a large breath to calm himself down. Feeling Kai's lips peck his cheek worked instantly. "Okay. I'm good now."

"Good. Now let's go."

The fifteen minute ride to the club, may as well been the longest fifteen minutes of Soobin's life. His leg was sore from bouncing it the whole way there. Then, he saw a distinguished blonde man on the side of the curb. There wasn't a doubt in his mind that it was Kai's father. They looked too similar to not be related.

Once the driver opened Kai's door, he stepped out and yelled "DAD!"

"Hey kid! Glad you could make it!" To Mr. Huening's surprise, someone else came out of the car too. "And who might this be?"

Soobin took another deep breath then stuck his hand out. "My name is Soobin. It's an honor to meet you Sir."

"Soobin! Nice to meet another one of Kai's friends."

"Actually-"

"-we really must be going Kai. Have a drink and as much food as you want Soobin. We'll be out of here before you know it. God, I hate these things."

Kai interjected "then stop opening new businesses dad."

"You won't be saying that when I retire."

After his dad left, Kai whispered "don't worry. We'll tell him after the ceremony."

"Okay..." While the Huenings went behind the scenes of the opening party, Soobin stood there awkwardly with no idea what to do. Things went from awkward to worse when his ex tapped his shoulder.
