Once upon a time, there was a Princess in need of rescuing. She was beautiful. Some might say a mere dream. Golden blonde hair, large doe-like eyes and the singing voice of a canary. The Princess was perfect. Available for marrying to anyone who could save her.

Knights failed to rescue her from the enchanted maze she was locked within. King Yeonjun, known for his skilled abilities, was prophecized to be the victor. In a way, it was destiny.

Like the witch foretold, Yeonjun was successful. The girl, Princess Hiyyih, really was as beautiful as the public said she would be.

A crowd awaited them in front of the Huening castle. No expense was spared for the pre-wedding party. White and pink rose petals lined the carpet all the way up the grand staircase. The royal band played eccentric jubilees and anyone who was anyone were awaiting to greet the couple in the ballroom. Only Yeonjun and Hiyyih had no idea they were even expected to be married.

The two rode in on a dark gray stallion, a 6th generation Choi war horse, to see banners fly in exuberance. Then, as they turned the corner, they saw the royal family. Shock transformed to awe when he laid eyes on Prince Kai Huening. The blonde he had only known by name but had never seen.

Princess Hiyyih nearly lept off of the horse when she saw her family. Her golden hair floated behind her like Kai's did while standing in the breeze. Naturally, being the each other's favorite sibling, they embraced first.

Yeonjun watched how easily Kai was able to pick her up. Between the muscles, the elegance and the beauty, the Prince was becoming very interesting. Next thing he knew, four blonde royals turned to look at him still standing by his horse. Walking up to them made him feel uneasy. Seeing the Prince come closer with each step certainly didn't help. "Hello..." he politely said in greeting the family.

The Huenings took turns thanking him personally. Hiyyih rejoined her savior by his side which unknowingly made Yeonjun uncomfortable. To make it worse, Kai was side-eyeing him with a small knowing smirk like he knew exactly what he was thinking. He refused to look at him to avoid going red in the face.

Dinner and the after party wasn't any better. Not only were they planning a wedding without his consent but Kai never stopped smirking. By the end of it, he confronted the blonde in a hallway and demanded "do you have a problem with me?!"

"No."

"Then quit looking at me like that!"

"Fine." Kai never stopped smiling. He folded his arms then waited for Yeonjun to turn around to say "you can go back to the party but I think you'd rather fuck me."

Permission was all he wanted and he was about to show his gratitude rather sloppily. Yeonjun pushed him into the maid's closet where they fucked before anyone noticed either were missing.

It was meant to be a fling. Just a bit of fun before the wedding. But by the time the actual date arrived, even Hiyyih knew they were secretly dating. An alliance between the Chois and the Huenings were too important to call the whole thing off. Plenty of people were in unhappy marriages. Unfortunately, she wasn't going to get her happy ending.

The day of the wedding arrived when winter officially ended. While it was sad for everyone involved, it was necessary. The only time the King and Queen were together during the reception was to take photos for the press. Otherwise, they were at opposite ends of the room.

Six months later and Yeonjun realized he fell in love with the Prince during a meeting. One of the nobles mentioned preparing Kai for his own wedding to which Yeonjun felt instantly jealous. Resentment then bloomed out of jealousy from the sheer thought of the blonde getting to choose who he wanted to marry. After the meeting was over he rushed to the Huening Kingdom, grabbed Kai and begged "choose me".

"For?"

"Marry me."

"What? Okay wait. Forget the fact that you're married already. Are you trying to propose? What is this?"

"No. Well? Yes. I'm proposing! Maybe... just don't choose anyone else!"

Kai thought his boyfriend lost his mind so he pressed the back of his palm against the shorter's forehead to check for a fever. "Baby are you okay?"

Yeonjun smacked the hand out of the way then spat "I'm fine! As long as you don't marry anyone else!"

"I'm not but even if I did, so what? Incase you forgot, you're married! We can still fuck like we've been doing."

"I don't want to share you!"

"You think I like sharing you?!"

"No but-"

"-Yeonjun I have stuff to do." Kai started to walk back to his castle with potential suitors (that he didn't know about) waiting.

Princes and Princesses alike were lined up to marry into the Huening family and Yeonjun knew it. Before Kai walked any further, he blurted out "I love you."

"You love me?"

"Yes... I'm sorry."

Kai walked up to the shorter and held his chin between his thumb and pointer. Yeonjun's big eyes nearly trembled in waiting. He softly kissed his lips then sweetly said "don't be. I love you too."

Instead of going to the castle, Yeonjun grabbed the blonde's hand then ran with him to the garderner's shed. "God, I've missed you so much lately." His hands worked quickly to strip both of their clothes off while his tongue danced between Kai's teeth.

Between kisses, the blonde asked "why'd you keep me waiting?"

Shirts fell to the floor as Yeonjun's neck was being teased. "Because the bitch wouldn't stop talking. I couldn't leave."

Kai was shoved onto an old blue couch with a large grin from seeing the rest of his boyfriend's clothes fall to the floor. They had maybe 20 minutes at most before Yeonjun had to go back to his own Kingdom. He was going to make each of them count. "You're only the King. Could've just told her to shut the fuck up."

"Yeah, well. Punish me for it."

The blonde didn't need to be told twice. Being inside his King was always the most hypnotic feeling. When it ended, they promised each other to speak soon so they could plan a divorce that would look favorable in the public's eyes.

Queen Hiyyih, knowing her marriage was already rocky, wasn't going to let that happen. A King saving a Princess was the ultimate fantasy and she was determined to get her happily ever after, even if that meant no one else in the story did.
