An unforgetable prom night

Misty

I had to kick out Tino so we could get ready for prom. The girls and their parents came to my house so they and I could get ready together. Then, our parents hung out with the other parents while we lived it up.

After putting on my dress, I tugged on my Converse and tied them.

"Misty, the only girl who wears fancy Converse to prom," Kass said.

"What can I say? I enjoy comfort over aching feet." I smiled.

We checked our makeup before heading downstairs. Our parents took a billion pictures before we headed to Tino's house. We entered as the guys met us. Then the parents took more photos of us.

Tino glanced at my shoes. "Nice shoes."

I stuck my foot up with the sparkly navy blue Converse. "I thought so."

Tino smiled before kissing me.

We left the adults to their own devices while we headed to prom. We arrived to people dancing and talking. Tino held my hand and led me to the dance floor before pulling me to him. I wrapped my arms around his neck and danced with him.

"This seems familiar," Tino said.

"It does, doesn't it?" I smile.

We laughed as we danced. The music changed from a slow song to a fast-tempo one. Tino twirled me out and brought me back. We let loose and danced as others got down on the dance floor.

The girls and the cousins joined us as more Harper cousins got into the mix. Diego danced with his girlfriend, Marissa. The twins found some unsuspecting girls to dance with them while Karlene danced with her date. I'm so glad I wore Converse tonight.

My cousins, the girls, Misty, and I let loose at prom while we danced.  If you can't have fun after the chaos, then what's the point?

We danced for a while until we took a break to grab a drink.

"I can't believe this is our last high school dance," River said.

"Don't tell me you're going soft," Ryan said.

"Hell no!"

"High school blows. I'll be glad to leave this place," Karlene said.

"It only blew because you skipped school and got caught," Diego said.

Karlene mocked Diego and rolled her eyes.

"At least you don't have your older brother to babysit you at school," Thor said.

"How did you and Loki luck out?" Preston asked.

"Our folks thought it would be super if we attended school with Caspiam." Loki rolled his eyes in annoyance.

"Your brother isn't that bad," Michael said.

"You didn't live with our brother. The guy has an extreme case of OCD," Thor said.

Loki nodded in agreement.

We didn't say anything because we knew about Caspiam's OCD. He wasn't a bad guy. The twins bitched because Caspiam wouldn't let them run amuck.

The DJ played Footloose. My cousins and I took to the dance floor as people moved out of the way. I got in front and led the rest of my cousins. Karlene grabbed her skirt and did a toe to heel as we moved from side to side. She danced around in a circle with her arms in the air. Then, she got into formation with us.

Everyone clapped and stomped as we danced to Footloose. Thor did a backflip while Loki flipped forward. Ryan and River flipped Michael. We jumped up and landed on the floor, kicking and alternating our footsteps. Then, my cousins flanked me as I shuffled from foot to foot. We moved forward until the song ended.
