Alina is quite sure she is going to kill someone.
The loud music from the party blares in her ears, and it has been like that for the past two hours.
She hates parties, hates the fact that the other Slytherins seem to be obsessed with having them every few days. Alina clenches her eyes shut as though it will help stave off the sound.
It doesn't.
Parties are quite dumb to her—a bunch of teenagers getting drunk and indulging in drugs and alcohol as if it is actually fun. In reality, many of them are just doing it to seem "cool."
If anything, in her eyes, it makes them look really fucking stupid.
But Alina thinks most things are stupid.
Like romance. Despite having read many books on romance, it still seems...dumb to her.
Maybe it is because she knows romance is never an option in her life; there is no hope of falling in love.
Alina shoves those thoughts away.
All of it is stupid, she concludes.
The music they are playing, the stench of alcohol that seeps into her room, and—
A knock on her door breaks her train of thought.
Alina slowly sits up from her bed, the green silk sheets wrinkling under her weight. Her head tilts toward the wooden door. Who the fuck has found her room?
Another knock.
Slowly, she lets herself put her feet on the cold floor and walks to the door.
Alina unlocks the door and opens it. Sirius Black stands there, the painting behind him swinging open.
The painting is rather hidden, hidden well enough that she can't even see the party happening.
Sirius has his eyes narrowed, yet a drunken smile is on his face. His long black hair is messy, his shirt slightly undone near the top.
"Alina!" His smile widens.
Alina glares at the boy. "You're drunk," is all she says. She goes to shut the door, but Sirius puts his hand on it to stop it from closing, then stumbles inside.
Alina closes her eyes with a sigh as Sirius straightens up, his gray eyes scanning her room.
She doubts he will even understand her threats in his drunken state.
"Your room is so...green," Sirius sneers, taking in her green bed sheets. "And plain," he adds, noticing her lack of decor.
"I hate you," is all Alina replies as she steps closer to him and grabs his arm, tugging him towards the door. Sirius stumbles into her.
All Alina does is keep pulling him until they are both outside the door and in the common room. Quickly, she shuts the painting and takes in the scene around her.
