James Potter POV.
James slowly blinks his eyes open.
Merlin, why did he let Sirius convince him to drink so much?
He can't just blame Sirius, though. He felt rather... sad.
The world is blurry. Where are his glasses? He blinks harder, slowly sitting up in the bed and rubbing his eyes.
This... this isn't his dorm.
His eyes scan the blurry surroundings. He can barely see the room, but he knows it isn't his.
Had he slept with someone?
He hopes not. The only other time he did, he was also quite drunk, sad, and lonely.
A terrible experience he barely remembers.
From what James can tell through blurry vision, everything is mostly green—a dark, rich green.
Oh, fuck. Is he in a Slytherin's dorm?
Oh, Merlin.
"Potter." His name is spoken with disgust, though at least it isn't too loud.
James lifts his head to look in the direction of the feminine voice. His dark eyes narrow at the girl. He wouldn't be able to make out who it is if not for her unnaturally blonde hair.
"Sunshine?" he asks, his voice raspy in the early morning.
Alina Nightshade lets out an irritated sigh. "Stop calling me that, Potter."
Without thinking, he smiles, despite the very intense headache he has.
It then dawns on him where he is. Her dorm. He blinks slightly and looks around. There is only one bed that he can see despite his blurry vision.
"What happened?" James asks, turning his head back to the girl. He can see her crossing her arms.
"You got drunk," Alina replies bluntly.
"Did we..." James can't bring himself to say it.
He hears her make a noise of disgust. "I have standards, Potter. No."
His shoulders relax slightly.
Alina tilts her head at him like a predator sizing up its prey.
For some reason, he feels... terrible. And a bit nervous. Oh, fuck, he slept in her bed.
Where did she sleep?
"I'm so, so sorry," James mumbles, sliding out of the bed with a stumble.
He can see Alina take a step back, tilting her head up at him now.
Despite being shorter than him, she has a way of making him feel very, very small with her comments.
"Leave, Potter," is all Alina replies with.
