today was Ravenclaw quidditch tryouts, and Audrey could feel her nerves bubbling all day.
her thoughts were making class increasingly more difficult, messing up in potions, muggle study's, and even charms which was her best class.
"i just need to get them over with!" she said to cho dramatically, as they walked back to the dorms to get ready.
"they're really not as hard as you think," cho assured, "not many Ravenclaws even tryout, i wouldn't worry."
"that's even worse! what if i'm so bad i'm the only one who doesn't make the team, or if i'm terrible but the team is so small that they have to let me play and i ruin the season for everyone!" Audrey's breath quickened and her palms got insanely sweating.
"Audrey just relax," cho chuckled dryly, "you'll be brilliant, i know it."
"you know nothing, you've never even seen me fl-"
she was cut off by a familiar voice coming from behind her, making her turn around, cho mirroring her."Audrey," it was dean.
"hey, dean." she sighed, trying to calm down to not seem like a spaz infront of him.
"good luck at tryouts today, i know you'll be amazing." he smiled, gently kissing her cheek,
"i've got to go now, homework with seamus and Ron,"he left her stunned at the gesture, "he remembered my tryouts," she said, turning to smile at cho.
cho was right, there really wasn't many people trying out.
Audrey was trying out for keeper, as was one other boy, he was much older, a 6th year at that, and had been keeper for the team the last two years, this did not soothe her nerves one bit.
the captain spilt everyone into team teams, Audrey and cho are different teams.
the girls smiled at each other as they mounted they're brooms, and took off.
Audrey successfully blocked 6/7 quaffles coming her way, while the older boy only managed 4/7, the game was over, and it was clear to everyone there that Audrey had beaten him.
"ah, what was i stressing about again?" Audrey said, laughing with cho as they walked back to Ravenclaw common room. "godric, did you see his face when he missed that last shot and then you didn't!"
"no but i wish i had!" Audrey said as they laughed uncontrollably.
"i'm so happy that we're both on the team this year,"cho said as they made they're way into the common room, "last year was so boring, being the only girl on the team."
"i bet," Audrey smiled, "don't worry, you'll never be bored again now that you've got me." the girls laughed, before parting ways to shower, and get ready for bed.
Audrey washed the sweat out of her, and scrubbed the mud off of her leg.
she then put on a big tshirt and a pair of loose shorts to sleep in.
when she got back into her dorm luna was in her bed, awaiting her arrival.
"how did tryouts go?" she asked excitedly, "brilliant! i'm the new keeper," Audrey explained, before going on and on about the details of the game.
"and- before, dean came and found me, and told me good luck, and kissed me on the cheek!" Audrey said happily, flinging onto her bed.
