it was the morning of the quidditch game, and Audrey's nerves were finally starting to set it.
she hadn't really thought about it, but Gryffindor was one of the best teams, right along with Slytherin, and sure Ravenclaw had evolved lately, but she didn't know if it was enough.
"Audrey, you have to eat if you want to play well." cho said, pushing a plate towards her.
"i know, my stomach just hurts." Audrey sighed, pilling fruits onto her plate. "i'm really nervous."
"you were nervous last game to, and it went great!" cho said, but deep down she knew, this was different.
"yeah thats because the only good person on Hufflepuff is Cedric," she scoffed, plucking leafs of her strawberries. "Gryffindor is full of amazing players."
"harry is super fast," Cho sighed, looking towards him. "i'm gonna have to get the snitch as quick as possible."
"i'm a bit nervous about this Harrison chick," Audrey said, "what if she actually tries to hurt me?"
"she won't, and besides if she does Dumbledore will handle it."
***
lee announced the Gryffindors, Audrey could hear the crowd screaming, and it was only making her more nervous.
"i'm so fucking nervous," she muttered, as she pinched down into her wrist.
"it's gonna be fine Audrey," cho sighed, as they lined up to be announced.
something about this game felt different to Audrey, and she wasn't sure why.
she didn't know if it was just that it was Gryffindor, or the fact that it was pouring rain, or maybe what George told her about Harrison, but she wanted it to stop.
"hammond, Audrey!" lee called out, pulling her from her thoughts.
she took off onto the pitch, immediately being drenched.
she got to her post, watching the last of the Ravenclaws fly out.
madam hooch, Ravenclaw captain and Gryffindors new captain, Angelina Johnson all sat on they're brooms in the middle of the pitch.
madam hooch threw all of the balls into the air, signaling that the game had started.
Audrey looked to the stands, and they're was Ron, with #09 plastered on his cheek.
she felt her heart do back flips.
Audrey blocked the first two shots that George and Fred made, smirking as she watched they're angry faces.
cho and harry were neck at neck, both racing to the snitch.
they had found it surprising quick, Audrey knew how much cho wanted to beat him.
she blocked another shot, but just barely.
it was really hard to see through the rain, and her broom was getting slippery. she was freezing, and her clothes were soaked, she had almost wished that they had rescheduled.
"Audrey watch out!" she heard George scream, but it was far to late.
Harrison had snuck up on her, and rammed her broom into her side, sending her flying off.
she felt her body falling through the air, she couldn't even feel the rain anymore, to distracted by the wind.
"oh fuck me!" she yelled, as her body crashed onto the wet grass. she felt her arm crack, as she sunk into the mud.
"Audrey are you okay?" Fred asked, as he threw his broom to the side.
"uh," she tried to speak, blinking rapidly as the rain came down on her face.
she felt everything slowly slip away, as it all went black.
she couldn't hear, or see, or talk, but she could still feel everything.
strong arms picked her up from the ground, holding her tightly.
she tried to speak, but nothing came out. she felt her head throb, as her arm stung with pain.
she had never been so scared.
***
"guys, leave her alone," she heard Hermione exclaim, as her eyes started to flicker open.
the lights were blinding, but the million people standing over her were going a good job at blocking them.
"Ron," she muttered, seeing mounds of ginger hair.
"hey rey," he replied softly.
"do you feel okay?" ginny asked, Audrey's eyes fully opening.
"my arm feels like it fell off," she growled, attempting to sit up.
"because you've destroyed it," madam pomfrey said, as she made her way to the bed, as her friends scattered.
"oh your kidding," she laughed, but regretting it instantly as she felt her head throb.
"here, take this." she said, handing Audrey a spoon of black liquid.
she took it without question, praying it was for pain.
"oh that's disgusting," she gagged, swallowing the nasty medicine. it was sour, and had a thick texture.
"it's for your arm," she sighed, making the bed next to her. "should be healed in about a week."
"where's dean?" she asked, Hermione, luna, cho, Fred, George, harry and ginny were all there, but no dean.
"he should be here," cho sighed, her wet hair dripping onto the tile. "he left the same time as the rest of us.
"Harrison's has been kicked off the quidditch team," ginny said, "and she has detention everyday,"
"oh and she can't go to the yule ball," cho said, shaking her head.
"she should've been expelled," Fred said angrily, "she could've killed you!"
"Dumbledore said that since she's only a 3rd year he wants to believe she'll mature," Hermione sighed, clearly not agreeing with his decision.
"does anyone know why Harrison hates me so much?" Audrey said, water from her hair starting to drip down her back.
"her and dean were hanging out, and he ghosted her for you." harry explained.
"your kidding," she sighed.
"did we at least win?" she asked hopeful. "uhm, no." cho replied, looking down to her feet.
"neither of us caught the snitch, so they rescheduled the game for next weekend, but-" harry tried to explain.
"but you can absolutely not participate." madam pomfrey said firmly.
A/N: fuck you Harrison and fuck you dean
