"Hoy, bading! Mag-usap tayo!"

Hindi pa man nakakaupo si Gaille matapos niyang ihatid sa classroom si Serena, hinila na ulit siya palabas ng kaibigan niyang si Kio. Hindi na rin siya makaangal dahil nasa labas na sila.

"Nagkasakit lang ako't um-absent tapos mababalitaan kong nililigawan mo na si Sere? Speed yarn?"

"I didn't know I had to inform you beforehand if may liligawan ako."

"Luh? Kaibigan mo 'ko, bai! Baka nakakalimutan mo!" Kio remarked and playfully took offense on Gaille's words. "Pero 'di nga. Since when?"

Nag-isip ng sasabihin si Gaille. "Actually, I—"

Serena's Rule #3: Walang dapat makaalam na fake lang ang ipinapakita natin.

"—I like Serena na. Bawal ba?"

"Hindi naman sa bawal pero out of all the people, pinakahindi ko ine-expect si Sere. Diba you find her annoying pa nga kasi lagi kang pinepeste sabi mo? Saka akala ko ba si miss dancerist bet mo?"

"I had a change of heart, Kio. I didn't expect for it to happen as well."

Gaille felt bad for lying towards her friend. But the deal was sealed between her and Serena so she had no other choice.

"Nakakabigla lang talaga, Gab. Pero sabagay, mukhang pasok din naman si Sere sa ideal type mo."

"Ideal type?"

"Oo? Hindi mo ba napansin? Dancerist, campus crush vibes na maraming admirers, STEM student, ta's mas maliit sa'yo. Pinagkaiba lang ata nila si Claire mahinhin ta's si Sere mahinhing tandang."

"Since when did roosters ever become mahinhin?"

"Exactly!"

Gaille snorted when she got what Kio meant. She shook her head and tried to stand by her deal with Serena.

"Maybe there's a reason why I've grown to like Serena more than Claire. Who knows? Baka iba pala ang para sa'yo, Kio."

"Ay! Hindi, bai! 'Di ako papayag." Agad na depensa ni Kio. "Kundi si Madi ang makakatuluyan ko, ipipilit natin!"

"Sus. You're saying that pero you're not making your move. Try to approach her and be a little casual with her muna kaya? Maybe you two could progress from that."

"Natatakot ako, Gab. What if ma-weirdohan siya sa sa'kin? Saka nakita mo na ba si Mads? Mukha siyang 'di makabasag pinggan. Samantalang ako, parang lahat ng bagay na hawakan ko nasisira."

"Literally or figuratively?"

"Pareho?"

Gaille puts her hand on Kio's shoulder. "Look, Kio. I know you're anxious about it pero you'll never know naman diba? Being the opposite of each other doesn't mean you two wouldn't click. And besides, if you wanted to get closer to a person, 'di mo dapat maging goal ang jowain sila in the future because that only means that you wanted to be with them for the sake of being in a relationship with them. Start from something small like being friends."

"May point ka naman. 'Di lang naman jowa habol ko kay Mads. Pero... you really think Madi and I could get closer?"

Gaille nodded and gave her a little smile. "Positive. I mean, look at us. We're the total opposites of each other but we click on really well. So what's the difference kung kay Mackenzie ka naman makikipag-close?"

Kio took a deep breath and nodded. "Okay sige. Pero pa'no ko ba sisimulan? Literal na lapitan ko lang siya anytime ba?"

"No. Try to find something na you share the same interest as Mackenzie. Sa pagkakaalam ko, she always wanted to have someone to read books with her tulad ng friends niya."
