Serena and Gaille are now currently at the school's garden. They decided to stay here for a while after class in order to review for their upcoming exams. It's mostly Serena who's having a problem, though.
"Exam na natin sa Wednesday..." Serena groaned, staring at her notebook that are full of notes and formulas. "Hindi pa ko ready! Ang dami kong formulas na pag-aaralan!"
As Serena continues to vent about her problem to Gaille, the older just stares at her in amusement, a small smile curved up on her lips unconsciously as she does.
"Buti ka pa, Gaille, chill ka lang. 'Di ka ba magre-review?" Serena wondered. Wala kasi siyang nakikitang reviewer mula kay Gaille na nakalabas.
"Some of my notes are at home." Gaille answered casually as if hindi problema sa kaniya iyon. "You've been struggling with your reviewer ever since we came here. Do you want some help?"
"Yes, please!" Serena answered in a speed of light. "Mababaliw na ko, Gaille! Ba't ba kasi ako nag-STEM?"
Gaille chuckled, taking out her notebooks and pen. "You said you wanted to pursue MedTech, right? You won't achieve that if you don't work hard for it and just complain."
"Hindi ba pwedeng maghanap na lang ako ng sugar daddy?"
"Sugar mommy ayaw mo?"
"Ha?"
"Nothing... I'll help you, stop being so whiny." Gaille assured, opening her notebook and flipping it to the page where the same exact topic is written. "General mathematics, right? Okay, here..."
The two studied together quietly, both focused on two different things; one with the teaching and the other one with listening and understanding.
Serena watched as Gaille teaches her how to get the solution to a certain mathematical problem, skillfully writing down each step at her pad paper as if it's not a source of headache, according to the younger.
"Try solving this from the equation first to get the value using this formula... once you have, multiply the value within the given numbers on the equation. Solve, compute, and then... that's your final answer."
"You made it look so easy..." Serena commented, trying to follow along with Gaille's teaching. "Seriously, how do you even catch up so easily? Nakakalito na nga 'yung lesson namin, nakakalito pa magturo prof."
"You're right about the last part." Gaille agreed, letting out a chuckle. "My mind's always blank whenever I attend that class. However, once na umuwi ako, I will try to understand the lesson. Sometimes I seek help from Kio or Jordyn, too."
"Napaka-sipag mo talaga." Serena complimented, earning a shy thanks from Gaille. "Ano nga pala course na kukunin mo? You never mentioned it before, 'no?"
"Probably Legal Management? I'm planning to become a lawyer in the future."
"For pre-law? That's so cool!" Serena exclaimed, impressed by Gaille's choice of career. "May pagka-ambitious ka rin pala. I hope you come a successful lawyer one day!"
Gaille smiled and said, "Thank you."
"Buti ka pa mukhang sure na sure na sa course na gusto mo. Ako ewan eh. Pre-cal pa nga lang napapadalawang-isip na 'ko, what if pa kaya kung MedTech student na talaga ako mismo?"
"Just keep working hard, and don't hesitate to ask for help. I know you can do it, Serena." Gaille encouraged, giving her a reassuring smile.
Gaille's phone suddenly vibrated from her pocket, indicating that she just received a text message. She took it out and opened it, reading the notification from her screen. Though she shouldn't have because she immediately regretted it.
