Chapter 67

"Urat na ko, Kio. Ba't kasi walang nag-STEM sa inyo?!"

Rinig ang reklamo ni Serena sa loob ng school cafeteria. Apparently, may mga assignment pa pala kasi siyang 'di naipapasa. Nawala na rin sa isip niya sa dami ba namang ng nangyari before and during ng buong completion week.

"Bai, ulit-ulit na lang. Educ gusto kong kunin! Social Studies major pa. Anong gusto mong ituro ko sa mga future students ko? History ng pre-cal?" Kio deadpanned.

Serena groaned, expecting that kind of answer and tone from her friend.

"Inaaway mo na naman anak ko, ha?" Sabi ni Madi, na may hawak na tray, habang paupo sa upuan katabi si Kio. The former placed a plate of cheesecake in front of Serena. "Oh, Sere, para naman ma-motivate ka."

Serena's sluggish figure immediately rised as soon as she saw the dessert in front of her.

Serena stick her tongue out at Kio's direction. "'Yun oh! Buti pa jowa mo, Kio, mabait!"

"Ako, uyab ko? Wala?" Paawang tanong ni Kio kay Madi.

"Hati na lang tayo dito sa isa."

Kio stick her tongue out as Serena, like she did earlier, as well, hearing that from her girlfriend.

"Anak ka lang, jowa ako." Asar ni Kio sa kaniya.

Agad na sinubuan ng cheesecake ni Madi si Kio para manahimik. "Girlfriend ka nga, ugali mo naman parang pang-anak na rin."

The trio enjoyed their meal first, trying to give Serena a break from finishing her incomplete tasks for a while.

After a few moments, Kio suggested something. "Ba't 'di mo tanungin si Claire ba 'yon? Diba close friends kayo?"

"Busy sa org tapos mukhang may jowa na..." Serena laughed slowly. "Ayoko naman maka-istorbo..."

The café's door suddenly opened, revealing four figures; Allianah, Jordyn, Sydney and Mich.

"Sere! Nandiyan ka pala!c

The four of them approached their table. Serena noticed that Jordyn's one hand is holding a paper bag with a convenience store's logo on it.

The same convenience store where Serena and Gaille often buys ice cream.

"Oh? Looks like the group's complete." Mich commented as soon as she got closer to their table.

"Almost." Sydney emphasized. "Kulang tayo ng isa."

Agad namang nalugmok ulit ang mukha ni Serena, knowing who Sydney was talking about.

"Syd naman, bunganga mo." Suway sa kaniya ni Jordyn.

Agad namang natauhan si Sydney sa sinabi niya. "Ay, hala! Sorry Serena!"

"Okay lang... Okay lang talaga, promise..."

Though Serena said that, the whole group knows that it isn't. Her words obviously doesn't match her expression right now.

"Ay, ito! May pampalubag kami ng loob." Jordyn stated, trying to lift up Serena's mood by offering her the paper bag she was holding.

This caught Serena's attention. She lifted her head up to look at her.

"Bakit, JC? Ano ba 'yan?" Serena asked out of curiosity.

"Hinahanap ka ni Gab kanina." Mas lalo namang na-intriga si Serena nang marinig ang pangalan na iyon kay Jordyn. "Hindi ko rin sure kung ano nasa loob, pero malamig eh."

Serena immediately snatched the paper bag from Jordyn's hands.

"Ay, wow? Atat na atat?" Kio commented.
