The ride to Mich’s condo was quiet, with only the soft hum of the engine and occasional comments about directions from Sydney. Allianah handled the car smoothly, not even a hint of nervousness seeped through the oldest among them even though this is technically her first time driving on the road that is not a practice one.

"Here we are." Allianah announced as they pulled up in front of Mich’s building after a 20-minute drive.

Mich sighed in relief, glad to finally be home. "Thanks, Yana. And thanks again, Syd."

Once they reached Mich’s unit, Sydney made sure Mich was comfortably settled in bed, while Allianah fetched a glass of water and some medicine from the kitchen, which she asked from Sydney since she already knew every bit and corner of Mich's condo.

After making sure Mich had taken her medicine and was resting, Sydney and Allianah quietly slipped out of Mich's bedroom and into the living room.

As they stepped out of, Sydney couldn't help but glance back at Mich's space, concern still etched on her face. "Grabe, sobrang worried talaga ako kanina. Buti na lang din at mas okay na siya."

"Yeah, but I think she still needs a lot of rest. Hopefully, she won't push herself too hard again," Allianah replied, her tone softening as they sat down on the sofa.

"Hey, I remembered that Mich told me na nakausap mo raw siya no'n about sa pinakamamahal niyang gf?" Sydney asked Allianah, emphasizing sarcastically the word 'gf'.

Allianah chuckled softly, shaking her head. "Ah, yeah. We talked about it. Mich had a lot in her mind, especially with her relationship with Jaz. It seems like the pressure's really on with their long-distance relationship."

Sydney nodded before sighing. "You know, Yana, ilang beses na rin ako nag-try na kausapin si Mich about that. Pero alam mo, sa sobrang daming beses na, expected ko na kaagad kung ano sasabihin niya. Na everything will be fine as long as Jaz and her are still together."

Allianah leaned back on the sofa, contemplating Sydney's words. "I really do admire's Mich commitment and dedication. But I hope that she's not the only one making an effort for their relationship to still work."

Sydney scoffed, crossing her arms. "I highly doubt that. I don't even know if Jaz really does love her still or she just became so obsessed with Mich's presence. Kahit 'yung mutual friend namin, si Jay, he's opposed na rin sa relationship nila. Mukha pa nga raw walang pakielam si Jaz sa nangyayari kay Mich ngayon. Honestly? It really proves that he's right kasi tignan mo, wala man lang ni isang message si Jaz sa kaniya kung kailan kailangan niya."

Allianah frowned, processing Sydney's words. "It's frustrating, 'no? It seems like Mich's really the only one pouring all the effort para maging okay pa rin sila. Pero sa totoo lang, kung wala na talagang feelings si Jaz, it would be better for both of them to just let go. It's difficult, but it'll be even more of a struggle if this goes on."

Sydney sighed heavily, the tension in her voice evident. "Exactly. Pero alam mo naman si Mich, diba? She won't give up easily. I just wish that Jaz would realize that before it's too late. Or, I guess that could also apply to Mich as well."

Allianah's face was blank as if she was thinking deeply of something.

"Would I become like Mich if I didn't sacrifice my relationship with Jeremy for myself before?"

Seeing Allianah's expression made Sydney curious. "Something on your mind right now?"

"Hm, may naalala lang." Allianah let out a chuckle. "I'm just really worried about Mich."

"You've experienced it beforehand, 'no?" Sydney concluded.

"I guess? It's not that similar pero... I had to sacrifice a relationship for my sake. When I did, my ex was totally opposed by that idea kaya I didn't hesitate to officially break up with him. Well, cut him off, rather. He was the one who broke up with me first."
