Mich couldn't help but observe her best friend, who's currently busy putting over the clothes she bought with Jordyn earlier.
"Mich, alin mas bagay? This outfit with this fluffy bucket hat? Or black top with these blue jorts?" Tanong ni Sydney, holding up the said clothes in front of the red-head.
"It's sunny in Australia. Probably better if you'll wear something according to that type of weather." Mich answered, not really giving a direct answer to Sydney. Alam naman niyang the latter would get what she meant based on that.
"So, itong jorts na lang? Okay! Para rin naman masuot ko 'tong pinili ni Jo."
Mich stopped with her packing and looked at Sydney with a raised brow.
"What's the deal between you and JC?"
Sydney paused, glancing at Mich. "What do you mean?"
"You know what I mean, Syd. You've been hanging out with JC a lot lately." Mich replied, crossing her arms.
"Linawin mo kasi sa gf mo na platonic lang tayo." Sydney rolled her eyes, getting back at Mich. "Pa'nong hindi ako sasama sa kanila eh pinapalayo nga 'ko ni Jaz sa'yo?"
Mich looked down, letting out a sigh. "Look, I'm really sorry for that. I promise I will talk to her once we got to Australia."
Mich winced at Sydney's remark, knowing there was truth behind her words. She had been avoiding the conversation with Jaz for too long, hoping it would somehow resolve itself. Pero hindi ganun kadali. Jaz's insecurities were becoming more evident, and it was affecting everyone around her.
"Right..."
"Speaking of," Sydney started, trying to divert the topic towards Mich and Allianah. "Sabay mo si Yana kanina, diba? Hindi naman awkward sa inyo?"
"At first, yeah. But she's actually really comfy to talk to. We already resolved what happened between us earlier, so everything's okay na."
"That's good to know." Sydney nodded, approving of the situation.
"Don't think I'm done with you, Syd." Mich smirked, diverting the topic towards Sydney. "What's meron sa inyo ni JC?"
"Wala nga, kulit!" Agad namang depensa ni Sydney.
"Weh?" Mich teased, hoping to get something from her best friend.
"Basta, ayon. Sobrang hopeless niya para kay Yana. Parang ikaw kay Jaz. Nakakaurat na nga eh."
Mich rolled her eyes. Sydney would never really drop the topic towards her as long as she'll have an escape of being talked about.
Siyempre 'di rin naman magpapatalo si Mich. "You seem really fond of her, though."
"Mas masaya kasi siya asarin kaysa sa'yo." Katwiran ni Sydney. "'Di siya pikon na iirapan lang ako 'pag inasar."
Mich chuckled at Sydney's playful reasoning. "So you'd rather be WITH JC, am I right?"
Sydney rolled her eyes but couldn't hide the faint smile creeping on her lips. "Wala ngang something, Mich. Friends lang talaga kami. Besides, alam mo namang si Yana lang gusto niya."
Mich raised an eyebrow, sensing something unspoken in Sydney's tone. "Uh-huh..."
After a while, Sydney decided to speak again. "Mich, okay lang ba na hatid mo 'ko bukas sa house ni mommy? May naiwan pala ako."
"Uh, yeah. Sure."
