"Ma, Pa, alis muna ako."
Kio just finished putting her shoes on, ready to go outside their family household. It's Sunday and Madi invited her over para magsimba kasama ang family niya. After that, they'd have lunch together, study and hangout at their house.
"Ang aga-aga pa, Kio. Sa'n ka pupunta?"
Kio might not be the type to get up early in the morning pero mas gugustuhin din naman niyang makasama ang girlfriend niya kaysa manatili pa sa loob ng bahay nila at pakinggan ang sermon ng mga magulang niya.
"Sa... kaibigan ko lang. Sa bahay nila." Kio answered, not really in the mood to argue with her parents.
"Kaibigan? Babae ba 'yan o lalaki?"
"Babae 'yan malamang. Wala namang interes 'yan sa lalaki."
Alam din naman ng mga magulang ni Kio how she's defined, bata pa lang naman obvious na. But that doesn't really mean that she's accepted by them. If she is, she wouldn't receive so much judgement and discrimination from them when they accidentally found out about her sexuality.
"Alam naman pala nila eh, nagtatanong pa." Kio talked back lowly just so she's the only one who could hear it. But her mumbling was noticed by her mother.
Kio kept her response short. She couldn't wait to get out of their house and be with her girlfriend.
"Talaga."
Kio kept her mouth shut.
"Ano, Kio? Hindi ka sasagot?"
"Putangina naman. Papagalitan kapag sumasagot, papagalitan din pag hindi."
"Sige na Kio, alis na. Bumalik ka bago maghapunan." Her dad dismissed her.
From her mother's perspective, she's nothing but a rebel to the family. Siya lang kasi ang naiiba in terms of sexuality and even mindset, something that her parents would never get no matter how much she explains it. They're just too closed-minded.
She's just grateful for her father's though. At least one of them doesn't really care. Kio will take that any day.
Kio just sighed and calmed herself down before leaving their house, trying to shift her mood into something positive.

"Oh, ba't nakakunot noo mo? Did something happened?"
Ngayon, she's looking at her with worry-filled eyes.
"Wala lang 'to, Mads. Okay lang ako." Sagot ni Kio without thinking about her words.
"Mads? Hindi uyab mo?"
