8 - The stars are one step ahead

Cephues POV

"And then it'll be better siguro kung mga ssc members ang mauunang magsuot ng bagong uniform. In that way, makikita nila kung gaano kaganda iyong uniform. They'll be eager to buy one as you know, it does look like aesthetic clothes" saad ko habang naglalakad kami ni Stella sa hallway.

Hindi dapat ako ang kausap niya when it comes to this matter since si Dad dapat ang gagawa nito. Pero ako na ang sumalo ng trabaho niyang ito dahil nagkaroon daw siya ng slight problem sa company niya.

"That's a really good idea. I'll write it down on my list. Do you mind attending our SSC meeting on Friday? It'll be our pleasure if you come." Medyo nagdalawang isip pa ako since never pa naman akong nakaka-attend ng mga meetings.

Maybe I should take this opportunity para sa susunod ay alam ko na ang gagawin. My father would be happy to know that I'm growing up like him.

"Yeah, sure. Just send me the details ng idi-discuss mo during the meeting para naman may heads up ako." Nang makapasok na kami ng elevator, I pushed the button and we descended to the ground floor.

Nasilayan ko na rin tuloy ang poster sa wall and my jaw dropped once I realized what that is.

It's a rare sight: an invitation poster for an upcoming auto racing competition, hosted by the Baek-Ybañez family to showcase their new race car.

Only former professional car racers are eligible to compete in the tryouts, adding to the exclusivity of the event.

Amidst the crowd gathered around the poster, a woman's voice cut through, scolding them to disperse.

Ignoring the commotion, I focused on the poster.

As the men hurried back to their rooms, I remained, staring at the poster.

Miss Farah joined me, her presence comforting. She caught my eye and smiled warmly.

"Do you want to join?" she asked casually. I nodded, but my excitement was tempered by the realization that my father's over-protectiveness would likely prevent me from participating.

I pouted childishly, which made her furrow her brows.

"What's with the long face? Why don't you just try it out?" she asked.

"I can't. My father has never allowed me to participate in this kind of sports event," I answered honestly.

"And you're just going to follow him?" Now it was my turn to furrow my brows. I looked at her, amused by her playful smile.
