No one's POV

"She's on her second lap! And... Oh god, that was a good drift!!"

"Wow, she's a really good driver." Bulong ni Samuel na katabi ng dalaga.

"She really is... driving me insane" wala sa wisyong saad ni Hyacinth.

She's so proud of her wife that all she wanted to do is to confidently shout her name and call her 'hers'.

"That was a great driving you have, kid. Are you sure this is your first time driving that thing?"

"Opo, first time ko po."

"I told you, Mama. I could find someone who's better than me in this kind of things."

The satisfaction in her eyes was noticeable, convincing the kid and her cousin that she did indeed find Cephues amusing.

"You're going for tryouts, right?" Jezreel's question wiped the smile off her face. The young woman's hope vanished, shattered by that simple question.

"I don't have a racing license. I only have a driver's license, and I don't think I can compete-I'm not even a beginner," she said shyly, her voice tinged with the sadness she felt, though those around her ignored it, knowing she was trying to be strong in the situation.

"That's no problem. We'll get you a license if you compete in the tryouts and win the race. If you really want something, you'll find a way. Right?" Jezreel's words gave Cephues hope.

The young woman's face lit up, as if she was on cloud nine upon hearing those words.

She couldn't believe it at first, but as her mind processed the information, a broad smile curved her lips.

Her smile made Hyacinth's heart skip a beat, as if the world had suddenly stopped spinning.

It was rare for Hyacinth to see Cephues smile so widely. She was used to her wife looking blank or annoyed.

This smile was something Hyacinth had longed to see since she arrived in this country.

The moment felt magical.
