47 - The Stars were in loveHyacinth's POV
Her delicate fingers moved gracefully over the instrument she held. Her voice melted the hardness in my heart, and her presence awakened my dormant soul and mind.Cephues sang "Rewrite The Stars," a song that brought tears to my eyes. A song I never imagined I could relate to so deeply.
Could we truly rewrite our fate? A destiny where we are together, embracing in the dark, loving each other?
Could it be that we are meant only for each other?
"Forgive my audacity, Hyacinth. Forgive me for loving you so quickly," her voice echoed the sorrow I felt. I never thought that even her love for me would come with an apology.
I never expected her impact on me to be this profound. I like her, I really do. But are we meant for each other?
I no longer care. I don't want to hide anymore, I don't want to avoid her, and I don't want to see her cry.
"Forgive me, Hyacinth." Her voice became raspy, and I approached her quickly, almost running towards her.
As I looked into her glistening eyes, I finally let myself fall into her embrace. I wrapped my arms around her waist and buried my face in her neck.
Enough, I can no longer pretend.
I felt her arms encircle my neck, and I could feel the warmth of her body melting the ice around my heart.
"Hya~" she called softly. I wept against her neck.
I can't take it anymore; I want to feel at home again, and only she can give me that feeling.
Cephues is my home.
"I really hate you for making me feel this way," I whispered to her when my crying subsided.
"Making you feel what exactly? I don't understand you, Hya," she said, clearly puzzled by my words. I pulled away from her neck and gazed into her eyes.
Those hazel brown eyes stared deeply into mine, glistening with tears yet dilating with anticipation.
"Making me feel those butterflies and fluttery feelings," I whispered as I caught my breath.
"You mean-" I didn't let her finish her sentence and nodded immediately.
"Are you serious?" she asked, and I nodded again.
"I like you... but it's not possible yet." It seemed she didn't hear my last words as she smiled widely and hugged me tightly.
A warm hug that only she could bring to me.
"I will wait for you, and I will continue to wait, especially now that you have given me a reason," she whispered to me and kissed my forehead. Only my mother used to do that to me, but now I experience it again with someone who cherishes me.
"But my dad..." I wanted to tell her everything, to pour out all the resentment I've been hiding for so long.
"I will do everything to show him that I love you, Hya," she whispered to me. She held my face gently with both hands.
"No... He wants someone who can protect me, my image, my money, everything about me," I said.
"I will protect you. I will work hard and take over my father's companies just to show your father that I can keep up. I will do anything for you. I will be as responsible as he is if that's the trait he's looking for in your partner... I know what you're going through, Hyacinth. Whether you tell me or not, I know because I see it in your actions," I was stunned by her words.
