45 - The stars never ending gentleness

Hyacinth's POV

Have you ever felt such profound sadness that you wished God would just take it away from you?

Have you ever experienced a sense of despair that made you not want to live anymore?

Have you had nights where sleep eluded you because your mind was consumed with deep thoughts about the things you've done?

When I feel intense sadness, sleep never comes to me. You'll find me wide awake, staring at the ceiling, lost in thought.

Just like now, I barely slept a wink all night because my mind wouldn't stop replaying all the negative scenarios that could unfold in my relationship with Cepheus.

I'm thinking about ways to make amends and ask for forgiveness.

I managed only an hour or two of sleep, so now I'm extremely tired as I leave my room after Jezelle-who just woke up-called me for breakfast with the Baek-Ybañez family.

This house is so enormous that I almost felt lazy to go down to the dining room. When I finally made it to the dining area, I saw the twins sitting together on one side, and I entered with slumped shoulders. Before sitting down, I decided to help out since they didn't have any helpers.

I didn't expect the twins to just sit and wait for the food to be served to them.

"Sit back down," a familiar voice rang out as I stood up. My heart skipped a beat, not from surprise, but from fear.

I recognized that cold and stern voice. My eyes widened, and I obediently followed like a scolded puppy.

As she approached our table, I saw her clearly-yes, it was Cepheus. She looked even more beautiful to me now in her new outfit.

She wore a white long-sleeve polo with a few buttons open, revealing her fair chest. It was tucked into a pair of trouser shorts that complemented her top perfectly.

An apron was wrapped around her, showcasing her stunning curves.

Coincidentally, our outfits matched. I was wearing a white dress I had turned into sleepwear. It was a dress Jezelle bought while we were in Italy but never wore.

"Cepheus? What are you doing here?" Samuel asked, thankfully voicing the question in my mind.

"Madame Sam saw me lost at the public market, so she picked me up like a kitten and brought me here. I went there to buy food but got confused by the market layout and got lost. Madame Sam offered me a meal, and here I am, helping cook to repay her kindness." Her voice was sweet, with no trace of the sadness from yesterday.

She placed the bacon and omelet she brought on the table, then looked at me and smiled.

"Morning," she greeted me with her unusually deep voice, surprising me with a kiss on my forehead before leaving the room. My eyes widened, and I noticed Jezelle's eyes widen in the same way.
