Chapter 10

It's been a week since I got married to Mahika. My life has never been better.

I sleep with her cuddles and wake up with her kisses.

My day gets better by just looking at her.

Today she will resume going to her office.

The whole week I ended up coming home early just to see her.

Today's breakfast felt different.

Dad was all gloomy. Mom didn't speak much. Dadi and Dadu left early in the morning for Bua's house.

Mahika as well was missing Chaitra. They were inseparable at the dining table, gossiping about everything, from clothes to people.

Rishi came home with the puppy as we all were about to leave for work.

Mahika checked for her ribbon to make sure it was hers.

Rishi started laughing.

"Don't worry, this is the only puppy that is black, others were brown" Rishi said.

"What are you planning to name it? he asked.

She looked into the blue eyes of the puppy holding it carefully in her arms, and said "Sky."

Sky.

Nice name.

I should let her pick our baby's name.

"Should I pick you up in the evening?" Rishi asked Mahika.

Pick her up for what?

"Sure" she replied.

"Pick her up to go where? I asked staring at Rishi.

"Chaitra didn't tell you? She is throwing a party at your club" he replied.

How could she invite them and not me?

"Why wasn't I invited? I asked feeling hurt.

"She said you had some important meeting to attend" he replied.

That's true.

But I will not send my wife alone there. She will get bored among those boring people.

Maybe I should tag along. I can postpone the meeting.

"I am coming as well. You don't need to pick her up" I informed them.

They looked at each other and looked back at me.

And again looked at each other.

"You will hurt your neck lotus" I said.

We made eye contact. She stared into mine and I was lost in hers.

Rishi cleared his throat and gave us a teasing smile.

"I... I need to go, I am getting late. I am taking Sky with me, I will anyway be visiting a site today" she informed and left with Sky.
