"Hey Chaitra, wanna join me for a coffee" Vishal Khanna asked me as I was about to get in an elevator.

"I am good," I said and pressed the 15th floor.

He placed his hand between the elevator door and entered inside and said "I changed my mind, I don't want coffee anymore."

He has been bugging me ever since we signed the deal, to join him for lunch or coffee or parties.

Initially, I thought it was an attempt to get to know me but his advances have made me extremely uncomfortable.

He knows I am married yet he does those things. One thing I have learnt from movies and books is a man running behind a married woman is no good news to the married woman.

I thought he would try to initiate a conversation but he was busy on his phone. Thank god.

Suddenly the lift stopped but the doors didn't open. I raised my eyes to look at the floor number we were at and it was still at 9.

I pressed the emergency bell. There was no signal in the elevator for me to call Abhay or security.

"Don't worry, someone will notice and call for help" he said.

I sat down on the floor. "Sit down" I told him and he complied.

"So Chaitra you don't remember me?" He asked looking at the elevator door.

I move my graze from the elevator door to him.

"Have we met before?" I questioned.

"You rejected me in school in front of everyone," he said casually.

My eyes widened in shock. He is that guy and that guy is him.

When I was about to say something, "Don't say anything. You were right to reject me back then. You didn't even know my name. I was stupid. How could I propose to you without even introducing myself first?" he said in a single breath.

What do I do now? It can not get any more awkward.

After his confession, there was complete silence. Time passed by and there was no sign of help.

I pressed the emergency bell quite a few times but still nobody responded.

Two hours passed by and still nobody came to our rescue.

Slowly it was getting hard to breathe.

I was struggling very much to take a single breath.

Vishal Khanna moved closer to me and placed his hand behind my back and said "Breathe in through your nose and breathe out through your mouth." I did as I was told.

It felt better.

He started rubbing my back. I wanted to push him away but I had no choice but to bear with him in present circumstances.
